This will most likely help quite a bit, but, IMO, it's still $50 too much.

Yeah this. I really think as people know the XBO is not as powerful, I think it has to be £50 cheaper to make a big difference.

I imagine in NA and UK the XBO could be the more popular choice now even with the same pricing as the PS4, because the 360 gained such a great following there.

The rest of the world probably needs an extra incentive with a lower price point than the competition though.

An extra incentive wouldn't be enough for the Xbox One in the rest of the world though. The XB360 had many more incentives than PS3 yet it sold less in those regions. US and UK would also be a lot closer this gen than they were last gen.

About time, but it may be to little to late.

They should add a 1tb drive to it to one up PS4.

7 months in is to little too late? The gen is young my friend.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I was actually expecting this to happen sometime around next year but I'm still glad they did this. This is why competition is good for the gaming industry :)

If only Phil Spencer was Xbox boss a year earlier!

Remember when people were saying.

"This generation is nothing but shinier graphics for PS4!"

Well that now applies to Xone.

Project Morpheus is our only hope of having ANY innovation this gen, and the chance of that succeeding is low I must say.

My thoughts go to Day One buyers who paid 100$/€ more to be able to wave at their TV (and yeah, got an achievement).

For nearly a year now, all MS did was aligning themselves with Sony :
- XB1 dropped DRM
- XB1 dropped used games policy
- XB1 became region-free
- XB1 dropped Kinect, price down to 399€

I guess you can thank PS4.

I mean let's just take a moment to take this all in: 4........FOUR major cons of the X1 have been addressed.

Price gap, kinect mandatory bundle, no games for gold, apps locked behind gold paywall.

I am VERY surprised to see some people weave this into negative news. Why? Because it makes the company you hate actually be a threat to your favourite company? I don't get it. MS is really showing they are listening, I mean really listening. I thought this would happen next year, but this soon tells me they want the bad word of mouth stopping and right now.

Good on them. Truly. Competition truly brings out the best in everybody.

I don't get why people see this as a bad thing. I own a PS4 but with this news, I know Sony is going to put even more effort on their PS4 games and doesn't overprice their VR headset. Each of those companies are pushing each others limit.

Now I feel like I will save more money on Black Friday when I buy the PS4 for my little brother.

Tbh this kinda sucks.

PS4 and Xbox 1 are practically the same god damn console, one just has Halo and the other Gran Turismo. Like, yikes.

They are closer but there are some differences.  Project Morpheus and Playstation Now, original programmes and hopefully something more to come from MS

This is pretty much what I had expected to see so good job Microsoft...now we just wait and see how this will affect sales. Will there be a big drop leading up to June 9th now like we often see after price cuts are announced?
