why don't vgc change the ltd's of 360/PS3 then if everyone is certain

because if everyone is certain then that means the ps2 had a better year after sony killed it then its last year

You know why those shipments were high, it was the final shipment and cumulated.

What's your argument for PS3 > 360 in terms of shipments?

did any other system show doubling its last year from the year before?

The thing is, PS3 has dropped of alot faster than 360 during the last year, and will most likely never catch up to it. They are still extremely close and we have a generation where all three consoles sold very well. Alot of people need to realize that fact, and the fact that PS3 never even passed 360 at any point. This is also confirmed since Sony has made no announcement around this.

Otherwise, not good in any way for Sony, and I am starting to think that company has to many structural problems to even survive in the coming years. Their divisions are simply not generating any real profit and we will sadly also see how the home console market will shrink drastically for them making for another troubled division in a few years.

MS right now seems like the only company out of the big three that has the structure and muscles to survive in the long run in this era of evolved mediums through smartphones and tablets.

I'm not quite sure you have an argument Max. Are you suggesting the bulk of those 3.4m shipped Q1 was PS3? Despite it doing 1.9m the year prior, and the following Q's showing huge drops YOY for PS3?

You're basically saying

Q4FY12: 1.9m
Q1FY13: 1.8m~
Q2FY13: 3m~
Q3FY13: 6m~

Q4FY13: 3m if you suggest PS2 was down
Q1FY14: 1.1m (down 700k yoy)
Q2FY14: 2m (down 1m~ yoy)
Q3FY14: 3.5m (down 2.5m yoy)

Q4FY14: 800k (down 2.2m).

PS3 has nevered posted more than 2.2m in that Q yet you choose to believe the bulk of that 3.4m was PS3 ...

It's pretty evident Sony were accounting for all PS2's sold forward for a final shipment. There is no reason for PS3 being up YOY least of all massively.

we know ps3 is at 80m in begining Nov. We know sony killed ps2 that FY. we know ps3 then must be at 83.1m + Nov. Dec. + 3.4m - ps2 + 11.5m - ps4

Well that is the bad side of japanease business culture.

An employee is forever loyal to a company, however this is a mutual agreement so the company has to take care of its employees forever.

Its 2 weeks in at 553m it will probably get close to 800m (because you could probbly consider it close already)

That should actually be a thread in it's own right.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

So Ps3 needs to be =,> 83.7m

In Nov Sony announced 80m ps3s as of Nov 2nd.

So the equation would be 91.5m - Oct Ps3's sales - Ps4's sales = 83.7

So Oct Ps3's sales + Ps4's sales =7.8m

Sony announced sold through 7m ps4's as of April 6th. And we know it was still heavily supply constrained. That's probably close to sold through the shipment of one week earlier.

So Oct Ps3's sales = ~800k. Sounds about right to me
