Well it looks like the 3DS will sell only a third of what the DS sold
So 2DS YES, 3DS NO

I never had that problem when playing the 3DS, even with motion controls in games like Star Fox & Mario Kart 7 & Zelda OoT & Luigi's Mansion & so fort.
You can move the 3DS several degress tilting diagonally to the left & right. And you don't loose the effect at all moving it up & down, which is perfect for bumpy roads while gaming.
Plus the more closer the 3DS is to your face, the more you can move it without losing the 3D effect, which is why I always play with my 3DS within 5 to 12 inches for easy 3D gaming.
Besides the DS lite had the same small sweet spot just to keep all the colors to stay exactly the same, or else they would change to a different variation of the same colors if you move the DS Lite just slightly, with the Brightness on 3 & 4.

Because it was marketed heavilly in the Cinema's as an experience best seen in 3D and because in most stores the ultraviolet boxed version, "Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + UltraViolet" was priced the same as the standard blu-ray/dvd version or only slightly higher.
The 80% you harp on about was for cinemas only, which was pushed hard in theaters with 2D screenings being done much less frequently and at a much lower number of venues.
But I have to ask, what has a 3D film, a film that isn't actually available on the 3DS, got to do with what gamers buy a handheld console for?, you're clutching at straws now, and it's kinda sad.

You do know that Nintendo is in talks to discontinue the 2DS because of poor sales, right.
Right now they are trying massive marketing & advertising & branding as well as a new price tag of $99.99¢ for the 2DS, but it still hasn't been selling to this date.
But the 2DS did a little good at Launch, but clearer milked its entire niche market already.

That still doesn't explain other new 3D movies, like:
I, Frankenstein
300: Rise of an Empire
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
They get the majority of their sales from 3D. (I'm talking about more tickets for 3D then 2D)
And the Wii U & Vita are 2D, so yes.

Yes, and like I highlighted, cinemas have invested a lot of money in the installation of 3D capable screens and eyewear, its only natural that they will lean heavilly towards pushing 3D tickets to maximise profit from their substantial investments, what do you want them to do "oh hey guys were going to show 2d stuff on our 3d capable screens", no, that isnt, doesnt and wont happen - 3d screenings of new films available in 3D are shown more frequently and shown at more major cinemas than their 2D counterparts.
So using cinema ticket sales as a longwinded way to backup your weak 3ds argument is laughable at best.

Pulled entirely out of your backside, they dropped the price, pure and simple. But I have to ask since you did pull it out of your backside, as a sideline product, who exactly does nintendo need to "be in talks with" to discontinue a product?
Yes, yes, were discussing discontinuing a product, so lets launch a massive marketing and advertising compaign for it even though were "in talks" to discontinue it.
Gimmie a break, 2DS sales are lower because the hardware is badly designed and the screens are easy to scratch, people want the more common clamshell version and buy that instead, especially since its more commonly bundled with new games, that is all there is to it.
Don't believe me? make a poll and ask "Do you use 3D on your 3DS anymore", and see the results for yourself, people try it when they first get one, but in most cases it's slid down to off and left there after the novelty has worn off (usually within an hour), infact, you know what, i'll make the thread right now.

They show both 2D & 3D screenings. And during the next week they adjust the screenings at each local theater accordingly to which screening sales did better then the other.
This is why you see less & less 3D screenings for CGI & stop-motion films compare to 2D screenings for the same CGI & stop-motion films.
But Live-Action films gain more 3D screenings vs. their own 2D screenings each week, because people like the actually great 3D in Live-Action movies.
But 3D in CGI & stop-motion movies does poorly, because their 3D effect is unimpressive.
Think of live-action movies as 3DS games, excluding 3DS games like Pokémon X & Y and Crimson Shroud.
And think of animated movies as having the kind of 3D effect that such 3DS games as Pokémon X & Y and Crimson Shroud have.
Besides, HD & Surround Sound are more of a gimmick then 3D will ever be. And I didn't see anything stop those two's, slick intrigration.
And 3D gives way more clearity & anti-aliasing in image quality with only a fraction of the resolution.
And some other user on VGchartz already did a poll about people who use the 3D on the 3DS, and the majority of the votes said they did used the 3D effect on the 3DS at least most the time.

And yet, you're still wrong.
We are in Amazong spiderman 2's opening week *were not even half way through first screening week*, lets see the proportion of standard digital cinema to 3d cinema, randomly selecting west chicago as the region of search for a few cinema chain websites.
Century Stratford Square:
8 screenings in 3D today
6 screenings in 2D today
Cinemark Tineseltown, South Lincolnway,
7 screenings in 3D today
4 screenings in 2D today
Cinemark @ seven bridges
12 screenings in 3D today
7 screenings in 2D today
Century 16 deer park
10 screenings in 3D today
6 screenings in 2D today
Cinemark Louis Joliet mall
9 screenings in 3D today
4 screenings in 2D today
Century 12 Evanston/Cinearts
11 screenings in 3D today
7 screenings in 2D today
Cinemark Tinseltown , Southport Plaza,
9 screenings in 3D today
5 screenings in 2D today
In just one area for one chain, today alone we have 39 2D screenings and 66 3D screenings, let's check another chain, this time AMC.
AMC yorktown
13 screenings in 3D today
9 screenings in 2D today
AMC showplace naperville
13 screenings in 3D today
7 screenings in 2D today
AMC south barrington
13 screenings in 3D today
10 screenings in 2D today
AMC loews streets
10 screenings in 3D today
7 screenings in 2D today
AMC loews woodridge
9 screenings in 3D today
4 screenings in 2D today
AMC loews quarry
10 screenings in 3D today
7 screenings in 2D today
So again, another area, another chain and we have 44 2D screenings and 68 3D screenings.
Move to larger areas such as new york or california and the ratio of 3d screenings versus 2d screenings increases even more.
3D ticket sales are higher because 3D showings are more common from DAY ONE.
And no, 3D used in theaters give you same same edge aliasing and resolution as 2D, 3D used on 3DS gives you half the horizontal resolution because it's parralax barrier technology, thus setting a 3DS to 2d mode gives you better resolution and edge aliasing, 3d on a 3DS makes it WORSE, if you're going to argue in defence of something at least have the faintest concept of how it actually works.
Be my guest though, continue making stuff up and being instrinsicly wrong in your statements about technology, you're not convincing me and i doubt you're convincing anyone else in this thread either, other than yourself of course.

Well, at my local theaters there are less & less 3D screenings each week for the same CGI movies, but more & more 2D screenings in comparison. But during the 1st week you can always find more 3D screenings for CGI Movies.
The only exception at all the theaters in my county would be Live-Action movies, which still continue to have more 3D screenings with each week that goes by (just like they have the first week, but with more majority for 3D). Excluding the last 1 or so weeks, where they start having 2 2D screenings and 1 3D screening, when it was the other way around the previous week.
And 3D screenings in theaters do have way more clearity to their image despite only having half the resolution.
