This is why you see less & less 3D screenings for CGI & stop-motion films compare to 2D screenings for the same CGI & stop-motion films. But Live-Action films gain more 3D screenings vs. their own 2D screenings each week, because people like the actually great 3D in Live-Action movies. But 3D in CGI & stop-motion movies does poorly, because their 3D effect is unimpressive. Think of live-action movies as 3DS games, excluding 3DS games like Pokémon X & Y and Crimson Shroud. And think of animated movies as having the kind of 3D effect that such 3DS games as Pokémon X & Y and Crimson Shroud have. Besides, HD & Surround Sound are more of a gimmick then 3D will ever be. And I didn't see anything stop those two's, slick intrigration. And 3D gives way more clearity & anti-aliasing in image quality with only a fraction of the resolution. And some other user on VGchartz already did a poll about people who use the 3D on the 3DS, and the majority of the votes said they did used the 3D effect on the 3DS at least most the time. |
And yet, you're still wrong.
We are in Amazong spiderman 2's opening week *were not even half way through first screening week*, lets see the proportion of standard digital cinema to 3d cinema, randomly selecting west chicago as the region of search for a few cinema chain websites.

In just one area for one chain, today alone we have 39 2D screenings and 66 3D screenings, let's check another chain, this time AMC.
AMC yorktown
13 screenings in 3D today
9 screenings in 2D today
AMC showplace naperville

So again, another area, another chain and we have 44 2D screenings and 68 3D screenings.
Move to larger areas such as new york or california and the ratio of 3d screenings versus 2d screenings increases even more.
3D ticket sales are higher because 3D showings are more common from DAY ONE.
And no, 3D used in theaters give you same same edge aliasing and resolution as 2D, 3D used on 3DS gives you half the horizontal resolution because it's parralax barrier technology, thus setting a 3DS to 2d mode gives you better resolution and edge aliasing, 3d on a 3DS makes it WORSE, if you're going to argue in defence of something at least have the faintest concept of how it actually works.
Be my guest though, continue making stuff up and being instrinsicly wrong in your statements about technology, you're not convincing me and i doubt you're convincing anyone else in this thread either, other than yourself of course.
