Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo *is* doing an E3 conference

Live > Recorded. There is more potential for screw ups but it just feels more alive and you get a quick check of people's reaction. Are they amazed? are they dissapointed? Are they indifferent?

Are a couple of bloggers' opinions important in forming my own? Am I acknowledging that my own reactions are irrelevant? Am I a man or a lemming? These are the questions that need answers!!!

They're really just presentations. The word 'conference' usually implies discussion or a Q&A with the press. Sony and Microsoft do live E3 presentations.

What am I missing?

keynote presentation is the word we should be using, specifically. In that regard, Nintendo is certainly doing one. Just not live.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Konami's been doing the same thing at E3 for years, with varying degrees of success. It's amusing that so many people find fault in Nintendo doing a pre-recorded conference, when any other time of the year, their Directs are actually very popular and well-received. Why would anyone want a repeat of Nintendo E3 2008 or 2012?

Besides, Nintendo seems to have found a new way to do these where they add a little humor and personality. The Smash Direct, the Fils-A-Mech from Mega64, and then the hilarious Mario Kart Direct. Nintendo is definitely getting better and better with those broadcasts. E3 is going to be awesome.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

So, none.

The media is still going to see the Nintendo Direct when it's unveiled just like they'd see the PS and MS conferences. They've got to wait regardless.  I agree it's the same thing, most people that are going to watch are those that are waiting for it. Only one minor difference.  Nintendo is having their conference at a lower budget, just like when they develop games :P.

Speaking from experience, Nintendo's E3 conferences were boring to attend anyway. Though they were the only one of the big 3 that ever invited me :-0

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

If Nintendo streams the smash tournament, then I think they will be okay

I personally like pre-recorded because it decreases the chance of of screw ups occurring. People say that this is what makes E3 special but I find it as a waste of my time.
