I once said the WiiU would get 54m at the end of the generation. Of course, that was before things went sour around the time of the system's launch. When push comes to shove, I still say that's my official prediction even when in the back of my head I know it's never going to make it because I don't think it's to change your tune midgame.

Anyway, I do realistically believe it can at least match and surpass GameCube. While that ststem started off decently, it fell pretty far later on. It got over half it's total lifetime sales in just one-and-a-half year. It got all it's big hitters during that time, something the WiiU doesn't yet. When Mario Kart, Zelda and the 3D Mario all turned out to be disappointing, the system failed. By the looks of it, they're going to do a better job on these games this time around and won't repeat the same mistakes. Also, Mario Kart and Smash seem to have increased in popularity greatly since the GameCube.

oniyide and Max King of the Wild; I understand that some users are hard to deal with, and god knows I don't understand what a lot of them are thinking sometimes but steer clear of the insults if you're going to post more in this thread. This, of course, goes for everyone else as well.

It should be prohibited for some users to post comments like "You're wrong.", "This is not true.", "This is false.", "You're lying because this is just not reality", "Bla bla bla", etc, without providing anything else as a counter argument. One user in particular never ever posts anything other than that kind of sentences, and we all know that according to the forums rules, content is king.

See I know a few people at work. Love their Wii, but Wii U is too expensive for them at the moment. They're not "gamers" in the slightest, it was games like Just Dance that they got a Wii for. We look down our noses at them and scoff, but they can shift a fair few systems. The price isn't right though.

I'm not in disagreement with that, it doesn't promote good discussions. I've been at the receiving end of such a debate myself so I know what it's like.

In the case of the user I'm referring to, there's no debating in his comments. It's what he says, because he says so. Nothing of any value. And it annoys A LOT of people in the threads he takes a part of.

It could also be none of the above, maybe his finanfial situation is alright but he simply has more important things to pay for. For example, l wanted a Wii U ever since launch but just now got one. I got married at the end of 2012, then in January i moved across the country for a job opportunity, my daughter was born in the summer and during the government shut down work was slow since the majority of our big contracts are military related. I make pretty decent money but after rent, utilities, car payment, car/health insurance, cable/phone/internet, gas, groceries, daughters college fund, miscellanious expenses, spoil the wife and daughter, when all is said and done im pretty broke. I also have a savings account but its used for more important things like emergencies or taking the family on vacation or going back home to visit the parents. Just because someone cant afford to spend $300 on a hobby at any given point doesnt mean they are a child or a financial wreck.

Whether it actually will, seems to entirely depend on whether Nintendo actually wants it to.

Their marketing for the thing is either horribly bad or non-existent, and they're not doing much of anything to persuade big devs OR indies to make games for their platform.

They're making some good stuff for it themselves, but nobody knows it exists, or how to play it.
