I once said the WiiU would get 54m at the end of the generation. Of course, that was before things went sour around the time of the system's launch. When push comes to shove, I still say that's my official prediction even when in the back of my head I know it's never going to make it because I don't think it's to change your tune midgame.
Anyway, I do realistically believe it can at least match and surpass GameCube. While that ststem started off decently, it fell pretty far later on. It got over half it's total lifetime sales in just one-and-a-half year. It got all it's big hitters during that time, something the WiiU doesn't yet. When Mario Kart, Zelda and the 3D Mario all turned out to be disappointing, the system failed. By the looks of it, they're going to do a better job on these games this time around and won't repeat the same mistakes. Also, Mario Kart and Smash seem to have increased in popularity greatly since the GameCube.
