By the time it was released, I hope close to 50m... As time went on, I thought between GameCube and N64 was the obvious choice... So no.

I expected it to do pretty bad not Dreamcast levels but a bit over GameCube maybe

Edit: Well I did expect some of the wii followers to cross over but apparently It didnt happen, lets just say the bad sales were no surprise to me..

I was quite sure that it would be the last generation of dedicated consoles coming up. But I did not think it would sell that badly. I thought it would be a dignified ending for Nintendo, and in quality it maybe will be but not in profits.

I never expected it to be this big a flop. I've been here for years now and still remember when we talked about the 'Nintendo Pacman' when Nintendo consoles had about 70% of the weekly market share and the pie chart actually looked like a blue colored Pacman.

As for the future of dedicated console gaming I always envisioned a common hardware plattform, where software providers sold games to different audience segments.

Not originally I thought it would sell OK - not Wii like, but 50k lifetime. Now I think ~20k lifetime, maybe same or less than GC is my current estimate.

It will sell ok in the end when all is said and done! A steady rate off nintendo games and it will sell! Any above 25m would be good. Also the day they start making money the day it aint a flop. You know it is a buisness not a popularity contest

I remember saying something to the effect of "The Wii(U) is just a gimmick and the affinity will wear off just like all other gimmicks." Everyone knew it and whomsoever thought differently was just in denial.
