Article sounds like BS.

big time. Sony bust their asses trying to get every indie developer on board. but when the makers of CoD plead with them to get their game on their next gen console sony refuse? yeah.... sure....

Perhaps because Sony isn't perfect and they can make mistakes like anyone else?

Besides the information is sourced from the developers themselves. It's not fake.

all this comment saying "ohh sony isnt perfect and they can make mistakes" are beyond foolish. nobody claimed that sony doesnt make mistakes, the comments are all about how this seemed highly unlikely.

And in which case the stuff being said was sourced from a dev in a documentary about making the game. I'm not sure how much more confirmation is needed.

Nothing here prevents EA to publish the game later on PS4. Typical Mass Effect situation.

You do know it was 5 years till ps3 got mass effect right?

It took only one year for Mass Effect 2 iirc

Wow, not every day we see a reversal where MS does good and Sony is uncooperative. Tis a good day.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Also this is more evidence that a hero "insider" of gaf was a bullshitter.  Famous mortimier lied his arse off again on this subject.

What was exactly his lie?

+ I don´t think that Respawn has ever begun work on Titanfall for PS4, the article/book make it looks as Respawn needed extra funding for each platform they ported the game, alas the 360 version was outsourced.

Mass effect 2 was not published by MS.  Mass effect was. Theirs a difference there. Titanfall will come to the ps4 but it won't be for a very long time, then it will be old fodder and no one will care as titanfall 3 will probably be out. I wish all games came out on all systems, but this is business and that will never happen. It's a very hard bussiness to be in. And a lot of turnover.

Just because you dont want to believe something doesnt make it unlikely.  Everybody that came in and said it was bs basically was saying that they knew more than the devs who created the game and they were liars.  This is why people are saying that sony isnt perfect, because "you" and other people are putting sony on a pedastool saying it is "highly unlikely" for any of this to be true.  It isnt even a big deal tbh, but dont act like something is bs and then say everybody else is being foolish.

There are some strange components to this story.

Respawn couldn't get funding? Even if EA refused to fund Titanfall, I'm supposed to believe that Respawn couldn't convince a venture capital investment firm that they could deliver a successful product? That they were just going to close shop and call it a day? What is even the point of Respawn signing with EA in the first place? They wouldn't fund the game but they had the power to trade away console exclusivity? Respawn "wasn't dealing directly with Xbox" but they continuously pleaded with Sony?

Some of this doesn't add up all that well.

It sounds more like EA was shopping this around, basically trying to extort money from Microsoft and Sony. I don't believe for one second that they would not have funded the game themselves if neither console manufacturer had been interested.

This 100%.  Either that or Titanfall went through some messed up development.  On another note FUSE, which was shaping up to be a POS (Because of EA) got fully funded and released...

Or maybe there is a large financial difference between the small indie games Sony has been drawing to PS4 and a large hype game like Titanfall.

Yes... I don't believe this story. Doesn't match well with a lot of info that we know is true.
