Forums - Gaming - Microsoft saved Titanfall from being canned, sony lacked cooperation/openness

Or maybe there is a large financial difference between the small indie games Sony has been drawing to PS4 and a large hype game like Titanfall.

Huge difference.  Respawn has EA, Indie's, are independent and don't have the financial backing that Respawn should.

Just gimme that Titanfall 2 son!

That MS gave a big help is believable, that thanks to this it obtained the console exclusive is believable too, that otherwise the game would have been canned isn't: it currently is the only project of Respawn, canning it for what? Throwing all the work done in the loo and start another project from scratch? Going bust?

I am actually quite happy that Sony didn't waste any money on this.

I agree, just about evry other minor and major dev has said the opposite and that Sony were constantly coming to them.  They must be missing something out, like they had some ridiculous demand that Sony wasn't going to accept.

Or Geoff is intentionally ignoring/leaving out details like he usually does.

The early Durango Kits were shipped months before anything was heard from Orbis. Many belived the Xone was to be release by late 2012, given how advanced and well know the SDKs to the dev comunity. Remember, that was the golden age of Neogaf "insiders".

Sony concentrated most of its resources on first party studios and development their internal IPs.

That´s a fact that MS has in the last year 4 major third party exclusives, and Titanfall gets it to 5. On the other hand all PS4 exclusives we heard of are first party (or japanease games).

Well, it should have been canned, last thing we needed was more generic dudebro online shooters. MS funding this stuff is why i don't care about them.

Over a million people would like to agree.

They don't agree because generic dudebro online shooters is all that they want to play. The kind of gamers we don't need.

I agree.  How dare somebody like something I don't!   They shouldn't even be aloud to play videogames!

The  nerve of some people to derive their enjoyment independently of what we think and believe!

They should all be rounded up they should!

No but seriously.... let people enjoy the games they enjoy.  Gaming isn't some private luxuary for some small subset of people.

Time to move on to the next game that will save Xbox1......

Save it from selling faster than the 360 and potentially being more protitable?

And with that said, there is still plenty MS can do to boost sales further.

Since I don't see the sigs, I don't know what is going on in your sig, unfortunately.

However, if you have games such as The Last of US, Uncharted, God of War, Infamous, Journey, Flower, Tearaway, Littlebigplanet, Puppeteer, Gravity Rush etc. etc. then yeah I agree with you. Not all the time, but 90% of the time they are right.
