Forums - Gaming - Microsoft saved Titanfall from being canned, sony lacked cooperation/openness

After my surprise that most of guys are taking this like a fake history in another thread... I came here to say it is in the Final Hours documentary that can be bought in Steam, App Store or Surface Store.

http://finalhoursoftitanfall.com/

Yeap... the Vita port was true too.

We know it's true, we read it in this article.

I just finished reading the article and I have to say the thread title is wrong (I know I am rather late replying, but I didn't want to write my impressions until I had time to finish reading the entire article).

Microsoft did NOT save Titanfall. They saved Respawn. Basically Respawn needed more money, and they were reluctant to go back to EA, because they knew EA would ask for concessions (like handing over the rights to the IP). Heck, the short-changed EA by not doing the 360 version and by getting rid of the single player. No where in the article did I get the impression that Titanfall would have been cancelled if Microsoft did not step up.

Also, Sony wanted to co-operate, but not on Respawn's terms. Sony wanted a Vita version, and was willing to work with them on that. They just were not willing to share the specs on the PS4. Respawn did not seem to care about a Vita version.

This was pointed out multiple times in the thread. Even a mod had to tell people to shut up about not believing it. But people still thought it was fake.

The app was free yesterday on App Store.

I got it but I have no interest in read/watch it.

OK MS funded it, but that still doesnt explain why it would have been canned if it wasnt for them.

Titanfall is a game which doesnt have SP and isnt pushing any technical boundaries on MP, so how can it cost so much that EA wouldnt fund it? and if they had no intention of funding even a low end AAA game (in terms of budget), what did they (EA) offer respawn which made them sign a deal with them?

Voice acting is minimal, dialogue is minimal, mocap is minimal if any. What made it cost so much that even a company as big as EA wouldnt have been able to save it from being canned?

I have hard time beliveing this, Sony would never do something like this.

Cause you know the intimate behaviour of a multinational corporation.....

This news has been proven true.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
