Forums - Nintendo - As it stands, the 3DS lineup for the rest of 2014 is seriously lacking

A lot of people talk about Wii U needing a big E3, and it does, but I think and hope that we see a lot of 3DS content that has a release date in 2014, otherwise I don't think I will be playing much 3DS this year.

I imagine 95% are going to disagree, but what are your thoughts?  What are you looking forward to on Nintendo's handheld this year?

Lets compare every year instead of just 2013 cuz 2013 3ds was probably one of the best handheld years ever!!!

I think we will get some 3DS content at E3, but don't expect too much! 2014 is clearly going to be slightly worse than 2013 in terms of games for the 3DS, too!

Too early to know for sure, but at the moment it does feel like it'll be a relativly poor year.

Wow, thanks Tbone for making that list!

2013 is a 3DS year I do not think is going to be replicated. The number of high quality releases were just incredible.

Besides, I really couldnt care less about what you have to say to me.... at all. point is, since it apperantly needs to be spelled out loud and clear for you, nobody knows the full list of whats coming this year, so, its too early to say this years schedule isnt comparable to last years. Now, since it was spelled out for you very clearly, do you understand? I hope so, because what you think is of great importance to me!..  yes it is!

Thank you! The problem with society is that they compare the best with the current. ex: Pokemon XY is doing great (between 11.5mil-11.7mil sold including digital...shipped at 12mil) but some compare it to the other installments which had a 150mil+ userbase to 3ds 43mil!

2013 was such a fantastic year, not for 3ds only but in handheld history! People complain wayyyy to much while 2014 is looking like 2011 line up in terms of quality.

2014 is great for me cuz of Kirby+SSB. We also might have Monlith Soft title (they are making a 3DS game), also LoZ MM 3D is possible with hopefully a metroid. Peole judging 2014 when we are in april.

That is obvious, and I mentioned that in my OP.  My main points were:

1)  The lineup this year is already tracking behind what was released at this time last year

2)  Last year also had far more games already announced for later in the year than this one does

3)  Nintendo willl likely spend more time at E3 on Wii U than 3DS, and it is practically impossible to meet the quality and quantity of last year on 3DS unless they announce at least 8 or so great games all to be released later this year, which is not going to happen.

That's the game you listed I am by far most looking forward too.
tbone's list definitely shows 2013 was its best year though, with 3 games I own (Plus Bravely Default, coz PAL) and about another 3 I want.
Compare that to 2011's 2 games worth owning and 2012's 4 games.
2014 for me isn't terrible though, there's 2-3 games I will buy so far listed by tbone and at least 1 more I can garentee we will get in Theatrhythm and if Im lucky we will get an E3 announcement for another game worth buying. So thats at least on par with 2012.

wat games am i missing on 2014 list? is that Theatrhythm one of them? (US release)
