Forums - Nintendo - As it stands, the 3DS lineup for the rest of 2014 is seriously lacking

Thank you! The problem with society is that they compare the best with the current. ex: Pokemon XY is doing great (between 11.5mil-11.7mil sold including digital...shipped at 12mil) but some compare it to the other installments which had a 150mil+ userbase to 3ds 43mil!

2013 was such a fantastic year, not for 3ds only but in handheld history! People complain wayyyy to much while 2014 is looking like 2011 line up in terms of quality.

2014 is great for me cuz of Kirby+SSB. We also might have Monlith Soft title (they are making a 3DS game), also LoZ MM 3D is possible with hopefully a metroid. Peole judging 2014 when we are in april.

See now, that list you made comparing year on year releases could have been made into a great thread discussion, but I don't know if that would be a great idea.

I actually felt in terms of sheer number of exclusives 3DS had the best year in 2013 forboth handheld and home console. They had so much variety from Japanese to more of their traditional games. SMT 4 really stood out for me. I'm hoping for some kind of Pokemon 2014 game, Ranger, or traditional. Also they may soon show Majora's Mask for 3DS? 2015 release, and a few others. Smash is going to be a big hit on 3DS as well from what I've seen.I expect much more solid news come E3. It's not like they are going to abandon the 3DS. Plus that Tomogachi Life got announced as well for NA and EU.

For me, I have about 36 retail 3DS and have reduced my backlog to Pokemon X, Azran Legacy, and Bravely Default. But for many there are a lot of games still to be purchased and some in their backlog. I'm definetly in the minority as a 3DS owner, as I doubt most own that many titles.

Wow, 36 games, thats a bunch! I thought i had alot, at around 28! I love the 3ds, its the best handheld ive ever played, and ive had em all.....

No problem

Didn't mean to be rude, its some of the replys and previous discussions from other threads tend to believe 2014 is sooooo bad. Onlyreason it looks so bad cuz 2013 had so many games including huge games come out in 1 year!!!

Thats like if i compare ever console/handheld to ps2/ds in terms of lifetime sales. yes all will look bad compared to those but in reality is nowher near!

Beside SSB is my favorite franchise of all time, even though currently Kd Icarus Uprising is my #1 game so far in the 8th gen :)

Fire Emblem+Pokemon XY+SM3DW were all fantastic as well

I didn't think you were being rude, I know what you were saying.  Hopefully Nintendo gives us a great E3 for 3DS & Wii U.  On the 3DS side, I really want the Ace Attorney original triolgy remaster which has been rumored, as I missed it first time around.  Maybe at least one new IP as well

It's defintely been my favorite handheld system. My DS had a total of 40 games (half were all Pokemon games) from a total of 8 years. I now have 36 retail (also got like 10+ eshop/ambassador/virtual console games) all from June 2011-April 2014. So I'm pretty content with my system, lol.

Oh, and I've owned all handheld devices from Game Boy Color-Present, from both Sony and Nintendo except the PSP Go.

It's as if you didn't even bother reading the OP.

You didnt, did you? Besides, I really couldnt care less about what you have to say to me.... at all. point is, since it apperantly needs to be spelled out loud and clear for you, nobody knows the full list of whats coming this year, so, its too early to say this years schedule isnt comparable to last years. Now, since it was spelled out for you very clearly, do you understand? I hope so, because what you think is of great importance to me!..  yes it is!

Well allow me to quote the OP for you:

A lot of people talk about Wii U needing a big E3, and it does, but I think and hope that we see a lot of 3DS content that has a release date in 2014, otherwise I don't think I will be playing much 3DS this year.

He isn't ignoring E3, he even says that Nintendo should announce some big things for 3DS. He's talking about the quality of the lineup as it stands for the rest of the year. Hope that helps.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Monster Hunter isn't coming till next year anyway.

Nintendo has two games scheduled for May and one with a vague summer release window. If you think they won't have anything more than that you're sorely mistaken. They just haven't announced anything more yet.

Im telling ya, we'll get LoZ MM 3D and hopefully a new metroid (2D).

Also 2015 already looking good. Watch, MH4U and we'll get either Pokemon Z(some third version) or Ruby/Sapphire Remakes and we'll get Monolith rpg (this game will be good, i trust monolith!!! in 2015 if its not released 2014

I think Nintendo should keep focus on the 3DS, for that is their cash cow at the moment. Wii U not so much and I doubt that any game can help that system anymore. I mean, if even Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country did so little for sales, then Smash Brothers and Mario Kart probable won't do a whole lot more. Better to have one good selling system and one bad then one mediocre and one bad. Pure from a financial perspective ofcourse, as I gamer I rather have loads of Wii U games this year. I'll fill my 3DS backlog with games from last year I haven't bought yet.
