Ok, so maybe this is not your game, people have different tastes, but something about sandbox games for me, is that basically, you spent 20, 30 hours doing the same 3-4 things against the same enemies too. That's why i'm not a huge fan of sandbox games, they become repetitive for me. I beat AC IV recently and the core mechanic was repetitive too. Just get your boat across the sea fighting against other ships. And the character gameplay mechanics have the same problems (beat your enemies always the same way, spy following an objective, sack a bulding to get materials, etc). I can say similar problems with GTA games too. Go to from A to B, in a vehicle, then kill everyone, or play the same minigame 4 o 5 times in different locations, etc....
To me, every sandbox is repetitive by nature, but at least, if i'm going to do the same thing over and over, at least, be fun and spectacular, and in that respect, Infamous SS was more fun in its core mechanic than AC IV or GTA V , and don't get wrong, i liked those games too.
Infamous SS at least is fast paced and more short that those games, so you don't spent much time wasting time. It's one of the more action based sabdbox games out there.

Oh no doubt sandbox games are repetitive by nature. The problem Im having with I:SS opposed to AC4 for example is sheer variety in what you can do, along with what missions and side stuff there is.
AC4 has a few cities, small towns and jungles/ jungle settlements. It has ocean travel with the ship, underwater stuff, hunting, crafting, a fleet managing/building system and there are multiple ways to take on any challenge in the game thanks to a stealth system to accompany the usual (easy) combat. Its that variety of things to do and places to go, alongside the main storyline (which admittedly is barebones, helped out by the tedious modern day FP bullshit). On top of all that, AC4 has its own multiplayer modes to add a bit of beef to that pie.
AC4 is repetetive. Its damn repetitive after playing the other games in the series, but it gives you several different options and it gives you plenty more to do and see in the open world. Its far from being the perfect sandbox title, but boy does it try to be the best with the options it gives you.
GTA5 is the same as AC4. There is so much to do in Los Santos, with Los Santos itself being gigantic. So many different areas, so many different ways to do things. Multiple playable characters, each with unique backstories and mannerisms. Numerous side activities to go along with the many side missions. You can really see where Rockstar put the time and effort into making sure the player doesnt get bored. From playing Golf and Tennis to the games online multiplayer, GTA5 is a game that is far from being as repetitive and quite honestly as tedious as Infamous Second Son.
Infamous simply doesnt have what AC4 and GTA5 have. It doesnt come close. It hits its peak when youre traversing the city and engaging in small firefights with the DUP from time to time, but outside of that (especially during the 2nd playthrough) it feels like Sucker Punch have put out a videogame that doesnt quite know what it is. Its lacks a memorable cast of characters, it lacks any worthwhile or fun side content and I think the plot itself is poor at best.
