I think Nintendo should put some of their old handheld games on iOS and Android devices. Pokemon (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal) Zelda games, Mario games, etc... Now obviously they shouldn't put any games on these devices that can affect their hardware sales (unless these games are on their Virtual Console, not too familliar with Nintendo). But even if they are on the VC, not many people are going to buy these handhelds to buy these games.

Now to the Nintendo crowd, this may be a stupid idea. When you think about it, how many people own a Game Boy (Color, Advance) compared to the millions of people that own a smartphone. I could imagine them selling these games for $5 and making a good amount of money from it.

For me, I wouldn't buy a Game Boy Color to play a Mario game, but I would definitely purchase it if it was on these devices.

If the port pokemon trozei/link on mobile - they can make a shit load of money - because that game is addictive as hell. I seriously cannot put this game down.

Going mobile will be the only chance for Nintendo to survive and they could make billions of Dollars effortlessly.

However, I think they should bring out their own Android based smartphone with real hardware controls and maintain their own ecosystem like Amazon does with kindle fire.

3rd party developers could then bring over their existing Android apps to the Nintendo Android eshop.

Depends on how they want to handle mobile. I think porting some of their old Gameboy games would be a good start, it could get kids who've never played a Nintendo console interested in some of their franchises.

Pokemon games on mobile phones would make so much money! Even more than Fappy  Flappy Bird and its 1 million clones combined!

At the moment? It's not the best idea, depending on whether or not the Wii U can pick up steam, and what they have planned for the 3DS.

However, the more time goes on, the more I feel as though some games (such as the older titles), could maybe be a good fit on a mobile platform. I still think we are quite a way away from Nintendo releasing new games on iOS or similar, though.

No. Nobody will want those ugly monochrome GB titles on their smartphones.

If they are going to put anything on from this point on it would have to be GBA and on. Preferably GBA and DS. Start with Fire Red and Leaf Green Pokemon. Add some Gamecenter achievements too.


You know what would be nice? How about Nintendo taking this chance to finally bring Soma Bringer to the west? I'll play it again on my iPhone just for some Gamerscore.

As much as I don't want them to, I can't help but think that the games will shit money. Also, they could use the apps to advertise the 3DS and Wii U.
