*Looks at 360/X1 numbers in Japan*

I think its fair, congrats!

Yet Japanese support is likely going to be focused on PS3/PS4.

Ah well, thank god for the 3DS.

Hey now, this is only a ms vs nintendo thing.... No need to bring in the king!

Nintendo deserves it. They refuse to cater to the western "core" gamer, and they dropped support for all three of their previous consoles within 5 years of their lifespans including the Wii (Skyward Sword was the last major 1st party release for the Wii back in 2011).

Funny how M$ gets accused of doing that with the 360, yet it's now going into its 9th year on the market and still selling fairly well with a steady stream of titles. You can literally count the number of major releases on the Wii over the past 4 years on one hand by comparison... all of which were by Nintendo alone.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

The 360 is the second best selling console in US history after the PS2. Pretty impressive actually.

It's a longshot but I'm hoping for 3-4m Xbox Ones in Japan. I'm expecting 5-6m Wii U's and 8-10m PS4's.

Do you really think X1 will sell 3m in japan? Seriously, no way in the hell. 360 did less than 2m releasing earlier than ps4 and it was cheaper. Not even the most optimistic Microsoft functionary is pointing so high.

I think he was just looking at it from a fanbase growth perspective.

Come on Seece, you're better than this.

And I'm looking at it realistically.

I'm not bored, I found it quite amusing when I realised that was the case.

Why do you think I'm doing this to make myself feel better about Microsoft? Such a ridiculous an unintelligent response to come up with, especially given I'm happy with XB1's performace for the most part so far, making threads about another console certainly wouldn't make me 'feel better'.

Don't talk to me about my threads getting old ...

So you do it because you sincerely hate Nintendo.

He doesn't hate nintendo that much (titles of last 40 threads made with Ninty in them) Hey we all got problems, mine was Betting Disorder

Seriously Seece (i spelled it right finally!!!) Calm Down, We already have Toastboy... Or did he leave?

Predict: Which will sell more in Q1 - Xbox One or WiiU? 5 Weeks to go! XB1: 527k vs WiiU: 326k

Nintendo have now lost the UK/US to Microsoft/Xbox all 3 times.

Nintendo loses lawsuit, must pay 1.82% of 3DS wholesale price to Tomita Technologies LTD

Predict: When will PS4 overtake WiiU? UPDATE: Overtaken February 22nd!

What's the point of no return for WiiU?

What do you think are Nintendo's realistic expectations/plans going forward with the WiiU?

Why do people still think XB1 is going to fall to WiiU levels?

Batman Arkham Knight not coming to WiiU. Warner slowing down support?

Which will go under 20k a week first? WiiU or XB1?

What sort of boost do you expect from Donkey Kong in the US?

Nintendo Ending Wi-Fi Connection Worldwide on May 20th

PS4 has overtaken WiiU Worldwide

Do you still think WiiU can outsell Gamecube? (US: Second January, GC: 81k Vs WiiU: 49k)

WiiU down YOY in every region, weekly sales are off

Prediction: WiiU won't hit 6m by E3.

Should Nintendo cut WiiU price to $199?

Why is the UK shunning 3DS/WiiU harder than elsewhere? (Virtually absent from top 40)

Nintendo won't hit their forecasts. How did they get them so wrong?

Has 3DS peaked in its first year in the US?

NPD: 3DS 1.2m for December?

PS4 > XB1 > WiiU for total 2013 sales!!

Edit: Pls dont banned me, im trying to make a point :)

As for me, I too see no reason to have discussion about the meaning of data when data is clearly its own end. Go Xbox In UK/US for beating Nintendo! Rah rah rah!!!

This statement hits the nail in the head... I honestly don't know what are people supposed to discuss here if the data is not meant to be analysed beyond itself... Anyone who has been following hardware sales for a while now on this site should already be aware of how the US and the UK are Xbox's strongest markets, and the difference and the timing of it regarding 360 and Wii is more anecdotal than anything. The discussion of WiiU/Xbox One would be more interesting, if it weren't for the fact that WiiU is currently selling poorly in general...

So, if the point of the thread is to congratulate Microsoft for their achievement, then it's perfectly understandable (aside the fact of Sony being ignored here...), but as a sales discussion, I don't see much point in it...

What exactly constitutes "major" here ? If we go by million sellers, there's 38 million sellers by my count from 2010 onwards, with only 10 (or 11, if you count Mario and Sonic) games being by Nintendo themselves. I don't think there's any objective and reasonable criteria you could apply here for "major" that gets you those results...
