Forums - Nintendo - Water damaged 3DS

Those couple of rain drops wouldn't have killed the system if you had been patient and put the 3DS in rice for a few days rather than hours and hadn't been stupid enough to turn the thing on straight away lol.

You can't generalize that the rice trick would have worked with more patience. Perhaps the guy with the washing machine was extremely lucky.

They just gave me a new 3DS for free. :) I still have my old saves because I took out the SD card before I sent it in.

Wow that is awesome, congratz to be back in the land of handheld gaming mate :) Out of interest did you tell them what happened to it or did you just say it stopped working?

Ah brilliant, when something stops working like this and you know it was kinda your fault that it happened it's best to be vague and hope that the repair centre are in a good mood, if you were to tell them straight out the full details they might have to charge for the repair or replacement regardless of how easy a job it could be for them.

I've heard great things about Fire Emblem, my better half got lost in that for a few months.

But Nintendo's customer service is supposed to be terrible (according to some completely trustworthy and totally objective sources).

Seriously though, congrats!

My DS Lite had water damage once, but that was because of my dumb self..
