Or Microsoft could just buy the franchise outright........

There goes that. Now people on the fence due to this game will just get a PS4.

Well PS4 owners on the internet have mostly said they dont want Titanfall because its another call of duty clone and they all would rather play on PC, so its a waste of EA's time to port the game.

i have read a lot of comments that said that they expect Microsoft to not just buy exclusive rights to the IP, but to buy the IP itself. heck, there was even a petition made for it. 

common sense tells you that TitanFall 2 wont be exclusive to any console, but ask yourself, do most people you encounter on the interent have common sense?

Someone should legit start a thread right now asking if people would be happy / sad if it goes to playstation 4 with the sequel, that way when it does / doesn't end up doing it and people start to claim they didn't want it anyway / always wanted to make passionate love to the franchise they could be quoted from the thread saying what they actual would like to see of Titanfall 2 right now.... if anyone would dare post in it knowing it would be quoted in the future.

I think it could be a record for the least posted in thread since a "name a bad thing about X brand which you love" thread.

edit - To clarify that isn't intended just to be against Sony fans here, I mean there is obviously Xbox fans who would say it doesn't matter to them if it goes multiplat or not but then couldn't claim it was what will turn the generation of consoles around that it didn't later on.

see that is where it doesnt make sense. Microsoft cant do shit about it if EA wants to go multiplate. its all up to EA. if the first titanfall sells very well, why limit it to one platform? it will sell even better on more paltforms. also take into consideration that TF is on 360 too, thats an 80M+ install base, but TF2 wont be on 360, so if EA ignore the PS4 it will limit its self to a 30 million or so install base when it can manage to double (or more likely more than double) that if they release on PS4. 

EA would be the stupidest bussiness men ever to keep TitanFall 2 exclusive on XB1, they want this to compete with CoD and Destiny, if they keep it away from PS4 CoD and Destiny will have bigger sales than it. it just doesnt make sesne to keep it exclusive. its not up to microsoft, its up to EA. 

Even though people are making this out to be a EA MS type of situation, its not.  Respawn stated a long time ago that they do plan to create games on the PS4. Without coming out and saying Titanfall 2 will not be exclusive, they pretty much stated it.  Its never been any real secrete that Respawn wants to make their games avaliable for all systems they can put it on.

Understanding development time, this is a non issue.  Waiting 2.5 years for a sequel of a game nothing going to make a big difference to people who might want to play it today.  If Titanfall really takes off, the first game will sell X1 consoles because gamers are not known to want to wait for some future game when there is something avaliable now.  This is the fence getter type of promotion. Its designed to get people who will get the X1 if there is a game they like not make die hard PS fans decided to purchase an X1.  

Naughty Dog became apart of Sony with a solid goal in mind, which was to create movie-like experiences. You really need to look up your history. Microsoft has no goals. Naughty Dog is one of the helm arms of Sony gaming development. They represent much like Sony Santamonica what Sony is all about. If you've seen other Sony games they feel like Uncharted in cinematics and overall gameplay feel of immersion. 

Bungie never represented Microsoft. In fact they had to leave Microsoft because Microsoft held them back and they couldn't agree on anything when it came to creativity. Microsoft wanted them to make Halo forever and this is exactly why Epic got tired and just sold Gears off to Microsoft. They wanted to be rid of it. You really need to know the difference.

At least on VGC the majority never said that Titanfall 2 will be not on Playstation and most people said that it would be too expensive for Microsoft and because of that it wouldn't make sense to buy exclusive rights to it.

I would say probably 90% on VGC said that it won't be exclusive so that I find a "I told you so" thread unusual. 

Microsoft could still easily get the excluisve rights if they would pay a billion or so but they are obviously not that stupid and know that they could invest the same money better in other new third party games nobody of us heard about yet.

Well, or they could be lucky and EA would be stupid to give them the Titanfall 2 exclusivity for way to less but that would be a surprise, not that Titanfall 2 won't be exclusive on Microsoft platforms. If that would happen I think a "I told you thread" of the crazy guy who said that would be something to talk about.
