Forums - Gaming - Thuway reveals PS VR Price range

Seems like a luxury item more than a mass market product, so they'll need to have a good margin on it. That's fine but the problem with limited market luxury items usually comes down to content support. That's going to be the key. Hopefully, enough studios will sign up for VR development. It would also help if the device wasn't just limited to games.

I think $250 is good launching price. man I am such a happy game right now :D

I really get tired of hearing about "insiders". Most likely a guess on his part to be completely honest. If it is does end up being $250-300($100 less than an entire console), it is a good price for the tech but still too steep for most people to get it. Developers and publisher would have to really be pushing VR for it to be successful, and when it is a peripheral i dont know how many will be behind it.

$249 might work, but I think $199 would be better if they want mainstream appeal.

$199 would be a great price IMO, but anything more is kinda pushing it.

If anyone think that's expensive, they're crazy, considering the Sony Personal 3D viewer is like 1000$.

now imagine Everquest Next Landmark with psMove and psMorpheus

If they can manage that enough people will try it out to understand how awesome it is they have the chance to succeed with VR headsets (not only Sony), if they can't manage to get it in enough peoples hands I am sceptical since you already see it in gaming forums that many who never tried at least the first Oculus don't really understand it or understand it but don't have the imagination to realize how great that feeling is when you try it out.

Sure, there will be always also many who just don't like it but I think most who don't like it yet are people who never tried it out and most who tried it out love it even with the "bad" first Oculus.

Cant agree everyday seeing peopel eat up iphones and women buy frucking begs for 5 7 $900, to me it seems gamers are the whinest cheapest bunch around but that whiny portion is quite small and mostly lives on forums.  Also hard to say when people honestly think product x is to much or its just ignorance or fanboyism driving their comments.  Plus hard to say what costs is to high given most of you never tried anything vr, so how in the hell can you jusge what its worth or not.  Much of that will be marketing and PR, something Sony is awseome at these days.

Give people a reason to buy a product and they will pay quite a lot as long as they see worth.

Imagining it will launch late 2015, I could Imagine a $599 Bundle. Would be totally worth it and I could imagine alot of people with money splashing out on it.
