Some people will value SP more than other people. Just like some people will value MP more than SP.

Infamous 3 comes out in just over a week. Should Sucker Punch only charge $40 for it because it has no MP? Is anyone buying Infamous 3 a "sucker"? No and no.

Another example and one that we can already play, Bioshock Infinite. It sold for $60 at launch and was very short. Yet I knew going into the purchase, what I was getting and had no problem paying $60. Should it only have cost $30 at launch because of no MP and short play length? No.

I know I am going to get hundreds of hours out of Titanfall. That type of play time would typically require tons of games at $60 a pop. For me $60 is a steal.

There are other games that have a campaign and are playable for hundreds of hours.

Titanfall is great value for someone who will play MP for hundreds of hours, but it would be better value for other people if it had a campaign too.  It's just limiting it's appeal to some people especialy if they prefer SP over MP.

Of course its limiting its appeal to someone when doesn't like MP as much as SP or prefers to have both in a game. But then again there are many games without MP and so they must be limiting their appeal too, but no one bats an eye at a $60 price tag for them.

I'm ahead of you with 26 days :). But your stats are amazingly good.

It depends on many factors.

I love single player content and I mostly buy games for that part... but if it has single player content ala Battlefield, then I rather miss out.

Titanfall was never intended as a single player experience, tough it had the potential for a good story. Never the less 60$ is a bit on the pricey side, but I bet most will get their moneys worth

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

I would buy this if it were $30, but I played the beta and did not think it was worth $60. I've watched livestream of the full game and still don't think it's worth $60. The campaign imo leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don't understand why it exists because it's such half assed. There are 10 weapons in the roster and several like the 3 round burst gun seem weak compared the the automatic Carbine and shotgun.  The pilot gameplay to me has far less depth than cod in terms of strategy. However, the Titan gameplay seems very interesting with lots of combos and in a way takes more skill. Based on the beta I did not like it, but I played on PC with a 360 controller so I didn't have the pressure as someone who just bought a brand new Xbox One. I wouldn't mind picking it up, but it's not something that has the same longevity as cod imo. I understand people are tired of cod and that makes sense. There are a lot of little things in this game that hold it back and I think people overlook. A couple of examples that could be fixed are the long lobby times, being unable to vote for map, and starting a match with a powerful burn card (you can start a match with a titan or mini map hack and imo that's unfair). Then there are bigger issues I have which relate to the pilot on pilot gunfights because of double jump it looks and feels clunky and strafe battles are less skillful than in other shooters. I did extreemely well in the beta just camping on rooftops. Also, I still don't like the AI and it's not something I see as useful. I know it's a moba thing, but these AI don't really have that effect. They only speed up your titan which is inevitable. Clearly there must be too much frame rate drop or lag with more players/titans because I do not see how 9v9 would not work. They could have even spaced out the Titans more making it more skillful and had a maximum limit on the map. There are not that many perks and some like the Ice Picker seem very worthless. There aren't that many game modes and some like Pilot Hunter feel pretty much pointless because it's the same as Attrition with a different kind of scoring. There are some times that I feel it's a cluster f*** because the Titans and Pilots don't always perfectly mix. I just don't see the variety for what is a multiplayer only shooter. If the game gets better through patches I would maybe think about spending $40, but still not $60. It's a solid buy if it were priced properly, but I don't think it's worth $60. The gameplay to me had some flaws and the lack of other modes just makes it feel rushed.  I do not think this game will last as long as cod either, but this is only my opinion.

I could always buy a multiplayer only game if it is priced to the amount of content in the game. 15 maps is solid, but imo that's the only part of the game that fits the price tag. I do not believe the gametype variety, weapon roster, attachments and perks, and features in Titanfall warrant $60.

Super smash brothers u will also only be multiplayer, I hope this lazy and cheap trend doesn't continue!

It's all personal preference. I spent $58 last night at the movies with my wife for a little over 2 hrs of entertainment. But $60 for potenialy hundreds of hours of entertainment is not worth it.because its multiplayer only? I get more value for my money on games and multiplayer online is where the best value is for me. To each their own. but to say that multiplayer only game is not worth $60 is ridiculous. The call of duty and bf franchises just to really name the big boys have nothing more then a 4 hour tut and then it's multiplayer for the next year or 2. Have already got more value for my money this week on titanfall then i ever got with bioshock series combined.A great story is always good, but value wise for $60 bucks it's not, and most games multiplayer is really poorly executed and just feels tacked on. So in conclusion, if it's done right then it's worth it. "titanfall" if its not "mag" it's not.

SP is usually 1st though.  For most types of games, missing SP is a bigger deal than missing MP.

My 8th gen collection

I don't really mind. Single player in modern FPSes has been pretty awful in general, so I would've rather have them spend more time on perfecting the multiplayer rather than tacking on a single player campaign just like so many other games did.

Besides, Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield 2 both do not have single player campaigns yet they are one of the most beloved FPSes in the last 10 years. However I would really like if they added a horde mode like Nazi Zombies or Firefight.

I have to agree. It was the same issue with Warhawk. I liked playing it, but it wasn't enough without an actualy campaign. I think the next TitanFall will have a singleplayer/multiplayer campaign. And I mean a real one.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

When a developer makes a single player game I feel they build a roller coaster for me, and I feel MP games are a parking lot, where people can play amongst themselves, but here are not rides or anything, is only empty space, in MP, gamers are making the fun, is lazy for a dev to make a MP only game if they plan to charge full price.
