I would buy this if it were $30, but I played the beta and did not think it was worth $60. I've watched livestream of the full game and still don't think it's worth $60. The campaign imo leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I don't understand why it exists because it's such half assed. There are 10 weapons in the roster and several like the 3 round burst gun seem weak compared the the automatic Carbine and shotgun. The pilot gameplay to me has far less depth than cod in terms of strategy. However, the Titan gameplay seems very interesting with lots of combos and in a way takes more skill. Based on the beta I did not like it, but I played on PC with a 360 controller so I didn't have the pressure as someone who just bought a brand new Xbox One. I wouldn't mind picking it up, but it's not something that has the same longevity as cod imo. I understand people are tired of cod and that makes sense. There are a lot of little things in this game that hold it back and I think people overlook. A couple of examples that could be fixed are the long lobby times, being unable to vote for map, and starting a match with a powerful burn card (you can start a match with a titan or mini map hack and imo that's unfair). Then there are bigger issues I have which relate to the pilot on pilot gunfights because of double jump it looks and feels clunky and strafe battles are less skillful than in other shooters. I did extreemely well in the beta just camping on rooftops. Also, I still don't like the AI and it's not something I see as useful. I know it's a moba thing, but these AI don't really have that effect. They only speed up your titan which is inevitable. Clearly there must be too much frame rate drop or lag with more players/titans because I do not see how 9v9 would not work. They could have even spaced out the Titans more making it more skillful and had a maximum limit on the map. There are not that many perks and some like the Ice Picker seem very worthless. There aren't that many game modes and some like Pilot Hunter feel pretty much pointless because it's the same as Attrition with a different kind of scoring. There are some times that I feel it's a cluster f*** because the Titans and Pilots don't always perfectly mix. I just don't see the variety for what is a multiplayer only shooter. If the game gets better through patches I would maybe think about spending $40, but still not $60. It's a solid buy if it were priced properly, but I don't think it's worth $60. The gameplay to me had some flaws and the lack of other modes just makes it feel rushed. I do not think this game will last as long as cod either, but this is only my opinion.
I could always buy a multiplayer only game if it is priced to the amount of content in the game. 15 maps is solid, but imo that's the only part of the game that fits the price tag. I do not believe the gametype variety, weapon roster, attachments and perks, and features in Titanfall warrant $60.
