Yeah but eventually i will tire of riding the carousel the developers want me to plow through in a scripted setting against AI so give me that parking lot where we make our own rides
I thought the same for Halo 3 on. I played Halo 2 SP and MP extensively. When I got a 360 I bought Halo 3 and Gears of war 2 with it. I ended up with more SP and MP with Gears of war 2 then halo 3 because the SP was much shorter and not as satisfying. I did not feel like playing the MP in halo 3 all that much. On the flip side I got CoD BO for only the MP, so I could care less how bad the SP was as long as I got my money well spent on the MP. I played MP for a much longer time then halo 3 because of Team deathmatch and zombies.
The most recent alternative, considering only mech games, is Hawken, that is MP-only too, but it's free to play.
Alternatives with large SP campaigns are almost all quite old or even very old.

Of course I'd prefer that the game be cheaper but I think an excellent multiplayer can be worth $60 on its own. I buy games for the quality and depth of the content, not the number of modes. |

Do you not like the single player in cod games? I think they are actually pretty good, its a shame some people dont give it the time of day. |
I liked the story for MW2 and BO/BO2 but not quite enough to offset the monotonous gameplay. I mean I didn't think the campaign for any of those games was a waste of time (like MW3 was) but if they redirected the time and money spent on the campaign towards refining and adding more content to the multiplayer, I wouldn't have minded.

Depends all on the person I guess. For some people, such as yourself, it's not worth a $60 purchase. However, to others it is. I know many people who won't touch the campaign mode in COD and will go straight to MP. They buy every COD as well so clearly to them the MP is worth $60.
I personally wouldn't buy a MP only game, especially an FPS. I get bored really quickly so it wouldn't be worth $60 to me.
Yeah, I'll buy an MP only game, but I won't pay full price for it. So, when Titanfall drops to ~30, maybe I'll check it out. Until then, there's plenty out there to keep me occupied.
I'm a Nintendo gamer, which means I have a natural obsession with good quality single players campaigns. For a game to have either none or a very pathetic one is horrifying to me. I would never buy this game for many reasons.

Was Warhawk priced at $60? I could be wrong, but I thought it was retailed at $40.
