It's interesting that some people think power is the reason WiiU doesn't get games, and some think it's sales. (It's both more than likely).

I wonder if WiiU had the power, would it get the games? If it had the sales (hardware), would devs make the effort to make games?

The Wii suggests no on the latter, because the userbase is not interested in those kinds of games

Uhh what are you talking about? It's clearly strong enough to handle any PS4/XBO games. And of course the sales are great. I mean look at Arkham Origins, it increased on Arkham City, not even the PS3 and 360 managed that! The only reason WiiU isn't getting support is because of stupid developers who don't understand Nintendo's greatness.

Can't remember if I mentioned it in this thread but we're going to see just how the Wii U compares to the PS4 and One on a level playing field (where the Wii U SKU has had an equal amount of care and attention as the PS4 and One SKUs) when Project CARS is released. A game that incidentally the PS3 and 360 weren't powerful enough to do the game justice.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised.

You'd better be right, don't switch goal posts if not.

Would a racing game be the best benchmark for comparisons anyway?  I am a layman when it comes to such things so correct me if I am (most likely) wrong, but racing games don't seem to be that graphically demanding.  Sure the car models need to be impressive, but even then they are largely static with the vast majority of moving parts under the framework, and while driving the evironment would naturally be somewhat blurred to add to the illusion of speed so racing sims shouldn't be too asset heavy outside of whatever weather conditions that may be available.

To me the test would lie more in games with a more open world to explore, such as the case, presumably, with Arkham Knight.  Would the U be capable of generating the map without constant load times?

Yes they are, racing sims are some of the best genres to showcase a systems capabilities, or lack thereof.  Gran Tourismo. Forza. Project CARS etc

They have the same artstyle (photorealistic), same models (real world tracks/vehicles) and similar gameplay scope so they are a very good indicator of what a system can and cant do. Racing sims tend to be some of the best looking games on consoles/PC.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I've been saying this since the day the specs of the Wii-U were revealed: Once thrid party support for PS360 dries up, Wii-U dries up. They are not going to make a whole engine to release on Wii-U.

Though this was before i knew third party support would already be pretty much gone by now.

Same here. I've been saying this forever. Most of the loyalists just don't get it. The hardware is an issue.

That is the one question I would love Zero to finally answer for once, why do third parties not support the Wii U? According to him all games are possible on it and the games are also selling good enough, but then why won't third parties make more games for the Wii U? What is the reason that according to him is so "obvious"?

Because 3rd parties are stupid. Isn't it obvious?

Yeah, I can really imagine that board meeting at EA:

- So on which platforms should we release the next Battlefield?

- PC? Should be the lead platform, we want to make the game look as realisitc as possible and Battlefield has a strong following on PC.

- PS4/X1? Should be a given too, most of our console fans will switch to those platforms and they're close to the PC in architecture and power, that's a no brainer.

- PS3/360? They're significantly weaker than PCs nowadays and our vision might not be possible without severely downgrading it, but we might still get very good sales thanks to alot of people that haven't bought a new console yet, it might be worth it.

- WiiU? No, because we're stupid.

- Well that settles it, get to work guys

:D

^ LOL

You've cracked it.

The Wii situation was completely different. Hollywood gave the Wii a nonstandard rendering pipeline making ports next to impossible due to it using fixed functions instead of traditional programmable shaders. The Wii would have been quite capable of down-ports of PS3 and 360 games if Nintendo had decided to drop GameCube backwards compatibility. Treyarch's work on Modern Warfare proves this despite Infinity Ward saying it was 'impossible'.

I'm confident that the Wii U will get down-ports from the PS4 and One when the installed userbase is high enough to make it viable, particularly if the One continues to flop in Europe.

You got banned for flaming and the onus for bringing "solid" information is from the naysayers. I don't have to bring information everyone knows to counter such obvious inaccurate/false information, i've already done it too much.

No. I got banned for telling you exactly how you handle the heat around here.
If someone says something you think is false, you don't just go and accuse them of being liars. That's flaming. You have to explain why you think what they're saying is false by providing a counter argument. That's how debating is done.

Otherwise, why are you here? You're just calling everyone a liar without any grounds. That's not helping your case much.

I see a lot of people spreding BS about wii u without any grounds. why should I bother listing the various arguments I listed before with every single random nonsense?
