Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Pachter predicts that the Kinect will stop being bundled in 2015

I hope they get rid of Kinect. It's just a gimmick like the Move and Wii controllers, but at least the Move was optional and the Wii controllers didn't drive the price of the console up. It's really a shame that they don't want to give people a choice.

The only question is whether it takes them that long.

Kinect Saved! confirmed!

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

I don't think they will do that since Nintendo has left the casual market open for the taking since releasing WiiU. Improving the software and releasing some strong titles will make X1 a holiday juggernaut.

damn patcher xP.is he a fortune teller?

The primary reason the Wii had success was because of the price. Kinect is just a sham, both of my friends with Xbox Ones keep it unplugged.

I predict this guy will be out of a job by 2015 if we are all lucky that is.

Wow! That would be like the biggest surprise.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I find it hard to believe they will give up Kinect regardless of sales. They have invested too much in it and it is central to the makeup of the X1 and what it is offering. I think they will simply give a price cut and accept the hit they will take in losing money on each X1 sold. IMO that would be the right move for them.

If they dropped Kinect and sold it separately allowing for a price cut... That would be a life saving move for Microsoft :)
