PS3 cut price 8 months after release or in July of 2007. Xbox One is in better shape then the ps3 if you align the launch.

XBox at it's current state is 2.5 million ahead, Yet we get non-stop DOOM threads, chest pounding and conversation about the war is over. This war has just begun my friends.

Sony proved that cutting price and pushing the system in new ways, not only turned them around but got them back in the race. Same will happen with Xbox, they have the money and room to do so. Sony PS3 at launch was losing money, XBox One is making money at 500$. If they cut price in the fall, they will lose for only a short period of time. Most will be made back in XBOX live account memberships or games. So if XBox is desperate, so is Sony.

No clear winner until years from now.


Yet anotehr different scenario, Sony had brand power that MS just DID NOT have and outside of US still doesn't have now. That is more of the reason the price cuts and marketing worked better for them. This generation is starting off very differently from last generation. I agree though the generation has just started.

Also this thread is not saying the XB1 is doomed it is saying that why is Titanfall WAY above Infamous: SS in pre-orders if the XB1 is doomed. SO the OP is pretty much on teh same page as you. And yes Sony was indeed erspearte back then THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. That's why the cut the price so fast like they did. And when they did they exlodede. Now aligned launched the PS3 was indeed tracking about the 360 so that is something else that has to be taken into account.

You keep comparing the two but they are COMPLETELY different in all aspects. Just chill man let the people think what they want for now. I personally think the XB1 will do fine, while I do not think it will catch the PS4 it is FAR from doomed.

You can have a game or two that is extremely popular/more popular than the competition's games. Still doesn't mean the X1 will outsell the PS4.

Titanfall will do really well.......but everyone knows it will eventually come to PS4(strong possibility at least) and the stigma of MS's failings is still too strong while Sony seemingly can do no wrong with PS4. The fact that the PS4 is outselling X1 by a huge margin WW will probably turn into even better sales in US. US buyers go with the normal consensus. 360's continued success in US was partially based upon it already had sold more than PS3, which forced many new buyers to follow suite in order to stay in the "IN".

I don't think the split will be too huge tho, US will still be MS's best region overall.

Depends on how fast they will drop the X1's price. If they do it in the next few months then NA would remain Xbox territory but it will be a much closer race between the ps4 and x1.

I think the X1 can still take NA and UK but won't win by a big margin like the 360 did over the PS3.

It's hard to see the X1 making a comeback over the PS4 like the PS3 did against the 360 since they are losing heavily on the market that Sony used as a ladder to get the PS3 back into the race and the PS3 lost NA and UK by a huge margin too.

Not saying the X1 will fall behind like the PS3 did but it's just hard to see them leading at this point.

GC had some great selling well hyped games, see how it did though.

US is shooter heaven, given the hype id say the pre orders are severely underwhelming. This is supposed to be the next halo and flip the console wars, not looking so.

reason titanfall has more preorders in the US its a FPS and US market seems to keep buying them no matter how bad or repetitive the genre has become.
