Forums - Nintendo - Is it really Nintendo's fault that the U is selling poorly?

Will the Wii U outsell the GC?

I mean is it really? I just think Nintendo's consoles have became less wanted over the generation. They've sold less consoles each generation.

(According to VGChartz)

NES - 61.91M

SNES - 49.1M

N64 - 32.93M

GC - 21.74M

Wii - 100.95M (I think everyone has came up with the consensus that this sold mostly to the casuals)

Wii U - 5.78M ( Which I think it trending lower than the GC)

Honestly, I don't think advertising or more games will actually help the Wii U sell. People are just getting tired of Nintendo systems, and I don't think they can do anything about it.

If people are getting tired of Nintendo systems then it's Nintendo's fault for not getting them interested.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Its the stupid NAME.

Nothing else. I talked to several japanese people (played Nintendo systems in the past)
And some maisntream gamers at my work (PS360 main console for third parties etc)

Noone has any idea what WiiU is "Is it a gamepad?" "is it a console?"

Noone knew that Its a new system.

Yes it is, they didn't put a console with strong hardware/online capabilities. They thought they could relate on their fantastic IP's.

ofcourse its not nintendos fault.

Is a company not suppose to create a product what the consumer likes?

That's a lame excuse. Playstation and Xbox are the main counter arguments to this. They managed to improve upon generations by giving the market what it wanted.
People are not tired of Nintendo products, they just realize that the better value lies with its competitors. Same with Sony products. Vaios and Bravias are not bad but they don't offer as much value as their competing products. Much like Sony failed to make their products more appealing, Nintendo failed to build a product that people would prefer over its competitors.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

You all are delusional if you really think Wii U will sell more than Gamecube. On weeks where it has no releases it struggles to make even 45K, and releases are very far apart and seem to provide little to no hardware boost anymore. Yes it will do a little better this year, but I think 2014 will be the peak year. It won't sell more than 4.5 million in one year, I'm convinced. It's in almost as bad a situation as Vita is in and it seems like a stretch for it to sell more than 15M lifetime. It's a shame though, because it's Nintendo's fault in the way they marketed it. Scumbag Nintendo. Mario Kart 8 and SSB4 will help it a lot, but I don't expect a large boost for any of them.

yes, I was being sarcastic..... but considering some people use that kind of response in a serious manner, I dont blame you.

No. It's Sony's fault for having a great marketing team
