And the part about endless repetition? MonHun IS endless repetition. Moreso than the other games. The difference is that you're rewarded far better in MonHun, and it makes doing the runs worth it.

You asked why I thought Monster Hunter was better.  Why not go look at the other posts rather than making me repeat myself.  I mentioned that all the games are endless repetition but Ragnarok Odyssey is even more so.  That includes Monster Hunter.  Several of my posts stated that I thought Monster Hunter was better but mentioned that I didn't like it and why.  You need to start paying more attention.  I've had to repeat things just because you overlooked them.  Reminds me of your lengthy post about my Persona review that I replied and pointed out each paragraph what you said stated pretty much word for word.

Whatever, no you're right. And Warcraft has nothing to do with items. Got it.

You're right.  Warcraft has nothing to do with items.  it's a strategy game where you acquire gold and food to build up your city and attack the opposing army, either the orcs or the humans.

Unless of course you mean World of Warcraft, and it's gameplay is different than Monster Hunter the same as it is to the original Warcraft.  How loose are you going to be with your representations of games?  Maybe we should start calling Call of Duty an RPG series since you level up your character to gain access to new perks and guns.

Basically I just got Settlers, the latest one, and I had to build my own roads, and there was no more terrain overlay, and everything was just....bland. All I wanted was a game where my villagers made their own roads. I really really fucking liked that feature.

How do devs fuck up this bad?

You're to young to understand. Settlers was all about building roads. Until Settlers 3 where they fucked this game badly.

Settlers 1 and 2 are more about logistics than war or strategy.

I remember settlers transporting resources from one flag to the next - and then bringing them back. If too much was happening some central nodes were overflowing and the routing of resources wasn't working anymore.

Unless of course I mean world of warcraft waht? So you agree. Item collecting is just as important as is the rest of the game. The gear is what keeps people playing. Do you agree? Oh, it doesn't matter because the game is different from Mon hun. oh ok. sure thing.

lol I don't know why you are talking about cod as an rpg. haha it's like you're thinking on a completely different wavelength. I never said anything about genres...but yes, an addictive part of the CoD gameplay is the leveling up and the access to new things you can do. It's bewildering how you can take a point and let it fly right over your head.

Gamers like to be rewarded. Ragnarok and SS just do not provide the same rewards and feeling of growth. Nobody is talking about RPGs or whatever nonsense you're spouting.

Anyway, as far as toukiden is concerned, you do realize that it JUST came out two weeks ago world wide right? Oh, maybe you weren't.

You know enough to realize it doesn't matter for Toukiden. No one is going buy it in the West and it's already peaked in Japan. They may be able to turn into a franchise but it didn't sell badly in Japan, but we'll have to see.

Actually, I just noticed it came out on psp as well. Right now, this one game is the second best selling monhun clone, only behind god eater.

Also tecmo koei said that it shipped ~500k copies, in 2013 but only 240k sold?

500k between PSV and PSP versions. There are also digital sales.

That said, it's still less than the 900k/850k that Phantasy Star Portable 1 and 2 both did. Type-0 did 800k, GE1 did 800k, GE2 is at 600k. That said, Toukiden still has done well for itself, mostly because the combat is fun.

"How do devs fuck up this bad?" Boy, isn't that the million dolar question? I would totally love to see some EA and Activision ( among others) devs answer that question..

armour crafting in MH is fun but it takes the piss when you murder a monster 15 times but still dont get the item you need to craft the armour..... then you play co-op with someone and they get the item you need first time around.
