The pressure is stupid though. There is NO WAY they could make it to the requirements of the fans of the FFVII.

Not just the fans, but the hardcore, I cutmyselfforCloud, fans.

The SquareSoft of old might have been able to pull it off, but with the current climate over at SquareEnix? Doubtful and I would rather them not try.

Look at FFXV. Is it that difficult to do that in terms of presentation? Just give us those graphics and keep the combat equal to what it was.Do not overuse voice acting and let the music speak for itself. Try not to mess up the music by changing it too much.

Its not that difficult. People just want the same game on a prettier package.

Yep, have looked at FFXV quite a bit and it does NOTHING to change what I think.  Lets all be honest, the SquareSoft of Old is dead and will probably not be coming back.

Doing an HD update to a game like FFX is one thing, a full remake is something I am very unsure about.  Dont get me wrong, I would  absolutely love a real, HD remake of FFVII (hell use the voices from Advent children, they were decent enough) but I just dont think they could do it correctly anymore.  I  am not sure they could go through it without "westernizing" it if they are already going to be updating it.

They've remade the first 6 countless times. You can argue about it being 16 bit and easier to work with, but they did a complete remake of III and IV and made them 3D. Why's it so impossible to do that for VII?

I don't get how it would cost so much, all they have to do is update the graphics, everything else is done...maybe voice acting if they want.

FFVII was just not think for HD.

Even for the time the in game grphics were crappy, and that was fine, because it permitted to do a lot more content.

Anyway a remake wouldn't sell, fans are whores and would bitch about cloud's new face or shit like this.

They would probably just use the same face he has in advent children.

And they say noctis looks gay ? =O

I don't see the need really

The PS2 to PS3 remakes were easy because they just needed to touch up textures and stuff. Here they'd need to redo all the textures and probably restructure a few things (maybe change the battle camera to a more FFX style?)

Let old games be old. The only thing they should do is to make sure that it's available for people to play (or buy again!) and they've done that by putting it on the PSN and on Steam

Yawn, every year it's the same answer.
Please let it rest, no good can come from this.

Yeah, lets just keep it as is.

The last thing we want to happen is to ruin FFVII. Just do an HD remaster of FFXII because that sounds safe and doable. lol!

I just simply dont believe that, Its a game that has already previously been created, all thats left to do is copy it and remake it with current tech. all the story level design, characters everything is already there for them. It just doesnt make sense his comments

This is exactly what Kitase is talking about. Alot of you believe its as easy as taking DMC games raising resolution then throwing it on shelves. Has anybody wondered why we have never seen a PS1 remasters? It is because the technology is PS1 games is too old to be of any use

 Ps1 - ps2 was a big jump

Ps1 - ps3 is a astronomical

Ps1 - ps4 is galaxies distance.

Combine that with fact FF7 is dated and below the standard of today, game design, tech, and writing.... It would be like making another entry. FAR beyond a simple remake.

If it would take 3 times longer does that kinda mean that he's saying all the Final Fantasys they are making atm are 3 times smaller? when you look at how linear FF13 is over 7 it kinda makes sense.

Well, i think it's more FF7 has a decent diversity of set pieces compaired to a modern game... and people.

Bigger cast with talking parts requires more unqie models.
