Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft’s Xbox Division May be Purchased by Amazon

Has any one asked why the fuck would they want to ?

Xbox brand is not all that strong, its been a massive pitfall financially.

Its getting annihilated by the PS4, so why would amazon want to take over and run it ???

Xbox will be better in Amazon hands

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Why this seems very unlikely...

PS2|Wii|DS lite|3DS XL|PSP|Android

Uh oh, this isn't good news. Hopefully it isn't true. Amazon won't have the financial strength of MS and so marketing and money hatting developers will occur much much less.

Ridiculous 'insider' information (aka lie) by Sony propaganda merchant. Was expecting something like this because of all the positive feedback regarding Titanfall Beta. You can expect CBoat, Thuway or Famousmortimer to spew out more shite when the game actually launches. All I see is fear and epic butt hurt from Sony tards that have missed out due to another Microsoft exclusive.

Now, back to the beta....

Because if it is, you have some issues, mate. It's like they are saying Amazon is buying your wife, or something.

I wonder what they are saying about this over at the Police State...

Amazon's certainly been positioning themselves in that direction lately, while Microsoft begins to care less.

It would be interesting to see what the leadership transition would do, especially if it occurs mid-gen.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Im not sure its really fair to say Microsoft are starting to care less, considering they just spent a bunch of money buying the Gears of War franchise and have been expanding 1st party studios for the last few Years.

Did you guys see the article was updated?

UPDATE: Microsoft Chief of Staff for Devices and Studios Group Aaron Greenberg commented in a quite clear cut way:

Ridiculous, cannot believe people would even believe something like this.

Of course, even if it was true, we couldn’t really expect him or anyone else at Microsoft to confirm it before a deal was signed, as this kind of things are never publicly disclosed beforerhand. That said, we have no reason to disbelieve what Greenberg said, as Dodd himself followed up specifying that it’s just a rumor he heard within the industry and that developers are talking about it, so I’d peg its credibility at a rather low level for the moment, as it’s second hand information.
