As a PlayStation fan, that would be bad news. I trust MS to mishandle its brand much more than I do Amazon. They might even steer away from the "America, fuck yeah"-box that ensured the Xbox brand was no threat to PlayStation in most countries.

Haha, it's not that far off. Amazon has like 11.45 billion in spending cash, so Sony has more and Nintendo is in striking distance of Amazon, so you can doubt if you like, but the numbers don't lie.

This is a perfect opt for one of the big two to buy Xbox and shut it down. The console war is finished!

I am sure amazon would continue to use the Microsoft Xbox OS and Xbox Live online gaming platform.

Kindle could turn into a handheld xbox.

This is one of the few technology partnerships that could really make a difference.

Actually I think they could handle 3rd parties, because that is how they are handling their IPs after they got rid of their gaming division (a move which indicates they wouldn't even think of buying into the console business.) Plus on the mature content side they have no qualms about doing that they just use one of their many branch studios to handle the "mature" movies. (Touchstone, etc)

So if they bought the division they would make it into its own brand and company that is owned by them. So their main brand will not be tranished by the mature content. (Fun fact Disney has only released one rated R movie under the Disney brand, Something Wicked this way comes. It was orginally a PG-13 movie but once the government gained overcite of the rating commision they rerated the movie since Disney wanted to a rerelease and they gave it an R)

So if they did it would be just The Xbox and not The Disney Xbox. But as I indicated before I seriously doubt Disney would even consider getting into the Hardware business.

As for Apple just considering how they are treating gaming on iTunes it would probally flop hard and/or be the worse thing that could happen to the industry as a whole.

Nobody realize this but MS lost alot and I mean alot of money with the xbox 360 3RROD issue, MS didn't make that much almost none with the original xbox, and now all the dumb decisions they make with the xbone from hardware design to software design. seriously 3 O.S ? wth are they thinking ! and don't forget the old spec DDR3 RAM.

The idea of the xbox brand is good overall but it has been flooded with horrible implementations. Literally the xbox got famous cause it was the first console in the market to provide us rich detail and smooth framerate when it was release(this was the pinnacle of the xbox "The release date"), I remember playing King Kong demo, got to play the Call of Duty all of it and I was stunned how smooth, clean and detail the game was, it was huge leap from xbox and PS2. But when I got my 360 a month later of its release, I put in a disc and its start reading it and I was HOLY CRAP!!! what is that sound ? freaking airplane was taking off or something ?, no that was my 360 CD drive reading. I was wth, I start searching on the internet if it that was normal, and I come across an interview with Peter Moore that time he was MS gaming division something, and so he was asked why the 360 is so loud ? and he respond something like this: "the console is very powerful and you know it has to do alot work "!, so after reading that I realize this is BS thats not normal and so I had no doubt this thing will have alot problems in the future.
