TBH i am hyped for X like crazy and I cant remember the last time I was wanting a game so bad.
But the first 2 trailers look great and I rewatched them like 1billion times each.
The new gameplay footage tho looked boring. Not because it will be boring but just because the footage they showed was completely generic. And there was like no effort put into the video whatsoever.
They didnt even try to use the ingame camera to show the vistas or center the enemy or whatever or at least use the camera to look UP to the Doll before player 1 entered it to show how huge it actually is.
They also did not HIDE the big enemy until they needed to fight it. The moment player 1 entered the doll you were able to see the big monster in the background just ignoring the players.... It robbed the video from the "WHAT? WOW HUGE MONSTER" moment.
It looked like some random 12 year old made a 1minute video. I know it was supposed to be gameplay footage but the ingame camera still allows for better footage.

So every single game on the PS2 was a spectacular flop? No single game sold even 2% of the userbase. And how does how well it sells relate to the quality of the title anyway? And if was extreme fans, we'd have $200 used copies at Gamestop all the time....but we don't, despite having extreme fans. |

And, to those complainging that the battle is very easy: have you noticed that the player (tester) is level 45 with the other 3 team members being 35, 32 and 26 while the monsters are level 13 and 32? No wonder the battle is easy. |
That lends more credence to the MMO-theory. It was difficult to get your team so mis-aligned in terms of levels in Xenoblade. Unless they've changed how EXP is distributed.
Although i really doubt it's a straight-up MMO. Nintendo wouldn't put the resources into it. At most it's a game with optional online co-op, Monster Hunter style, but hopefully with strongly-characterized single-player characters as well.
Or they just randomly let out character builds for this demo. Who knows?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I agree that the level differences of each member is surprising. 1-2 levels would be ok, but almost 20? It's very odd, and a new EXP system wouldn't explain it either.
But I don't think it's a MMO. In part (mostly) because I don't want it to be that, I want a regular JRPG game, but also because that needs a lot of investment in servers and such, and with Nintendo not beng able to air a simple Direct without people having lag or crashes, the sole idea of a Nintendo MMO gives me shivers.
Please excuse my bad English.
Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070
Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB
Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

considering the characters "dumbness" (only one player fighting for real) they were probably AI controlled. the level discrepancy could mean many things. maybe level isn't as important as strategy or this was simply beta content and the discrepancy won't exist in the game.

X is online multiplayer, sandbox, and much more diverse in combat. if smoothness (which I felt was no smoother than X) is all you're looking for (because you give no examples for impressiveness) then keep swallowing the S-E gravy. I got my details of the World by the several trailers they have showed over the course of nearly a decade. And if I;m not allowed to go off of that, then why are you alloud to, lol. Double standard much? Also expand on faster paced, battle actions are far faster as well as World exploration is far faster in X. (unless you meant neither of those things, as I said I need clarification.) |
All those things you say about FF XV... You take them out of your ass. Limited explorable areas? Looks like XIII? Compared to X?
Please, do elaborate. I could enjoy a good laugh from someone who's clearly swallowing an other brand's gravy.

That's a good observation. Also the teamwork needed in Xenoblade would not contribute itself well to co-op: it's better to work with AI who knows exactly what one player is doing, rather than the educated guess that another human could make.
I'd have to guess beta content too.

Also, the other characters enter their mechas at the same time, most probably because of a comand like the one in xenoblade (tell everyone to run/ gang up on one enemy). it's more evidence that this is an rpg with a story that has start, middle and end, not an MMO. it really wouldn't make sense to piss the fans with an MMO, the most we should see is online/local co-op multiplayer.
