Good.

It doesnt matter if they were established on WIi. That makes no difference as every new gen is kind of a clean slate. By that logic FF7 should have NEVER been the best selling FF ever. Hell all of those 3rd party games that were established on Ninty systems should have flopped. What about all those games that were not established on the first xbox but STILL managed to sell well on 360, FF, Tekken, just to name two. As for natural flow. Its not that simple as i already explained those games shifting to different audiences within PS Xbox community. and then you would have to explain why games established on Wii are doing not great on WII U. Looking at the WIi series here.

Honestly they might just do the last part and just skip it. Resources dont grow on trees and it is a hard sell to try to "perservere" especially when they have 3 not 1 or 2 3 viable systems to put their games on. Its messed up but hey. There is more to it than just well they didnt try. Lets not ignore demographs.

FF7 was an exclusive that shifted so the crowd followed.  Most old Nintendo fans and to some degree ps2 games had split across 360 and ps3 due to huge price of the ps3 so the audience was alreay there.

I already said the demographic is gone. The only thing left to do on Nintendo systems is to build a new demographic from the kids growing up into adults. If that doesn't happen then they will simple move on. That is the 3rd parties choice to make. Do they build a future demographic or do they allocate their resources to 2 platforms knowing people will shift anyway to play those games.

majority of Wii user base wasn't the. kind to buy these types of games

fact is Wii was a casual party console that sold akin to a toy

Wiiu promised to change that but has failed, Nintendo need to drop this party gaming nonsense then mabey work with 3rd party's to bring the games over

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

I don't think that's what happened.

FFVII sold far more than the previous ones due to multiple reasons. However "a large following migrating" was probably one of the least influential reasons in it's sales.

Global release, state of the art rendered cut scenes etc (giving a huge wow factor). all made it a far bigger game than what had gone before. Also the first one to get a real marketing campaign to make people aware of it.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Every console is a toy.

What party games are on the Wii U? Besides Wii U Party that is.

Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, Rayman Legends, etc are in no way party games.

Neither are their upcoming games like Bayonetta 2, X, Hyrule Warriors, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, Super Smash Bros. 4, Yarn Yoshi, etc

I'll start caring when Rockstars/Take-Two makes something fundamentally different than GTA.

Rockstar makes games with titays>Nintendo makes no titays

FYI Everyone likes titays ftw.

Nintendo Land, Wii U Karaoke, Wii Sports Club, Family Party, Game Party Champions, Game & Wario, Rabbids Land, SiNG Party, Spin the Bottle: Bumpie's Party, Wipeout 3 (not the PS1 racer with the same title)....

Most of those aren't made by Nintendo and Nintendo Land is actually a decent game.

Honestly Take Two just didn't do many games that could've even worked on the Wii.

GTA IV/V - impossible
last gen GTA port - there isn't one on the other consoles either, so why a Wii port ?
Red Dead Redemption - impossible
L.A. Noire - impossible (3 discs on 360)
Borderlands - sandbox + online heavy = no chance
Bioshock 1+2 - big levels but could've been downgraded potentially (though Wii released too late for Bioshock 1)
Bioshock Infinite - UE3 so probably not.
Mafia 2 - sandbox, so unlikely

Rockstar Table Tennis - yep
some 2k sports games - yep
some shovelware - yep
last gen port of Bully - yep, perfect audience but only did half as much.

to be fair Bioshock 1 did come out later on PS3, but i agree with the rest.

But that's exactly the reason I was talking about. Why was there no PS3 version at launch ? Because the console was released too late in the dev cycle, just like the Wii. There's really no other reason because everyone thought that the PS3 would do well after the successes of PS1 and PS2.

Take Two saw (after Bioshock was released for PC and 360) that the Wii owners weren't really the kind that would buy their games, so they decided to take the easy route and port it just to the PS3, because a Wii port would've been more costly due to the downgrading.
