Well, it was originally on sale for PS+ members back in October ($13.99), so I'm slightly annoyed that I bought it then.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Though I am satisfied, myself.
yeah the game was pretty cool, but definately not for everyone.
got it with ps+ in erm november?
I actually really enjoyed this game. Memory remixes were cool, but I wish they would have had more of them and expanded on them.
Saying that, this does suck because it would have been awesome if they took the faults/complaints from remember me and made and even better game that is a big hit.
| Wiped said: Do not like the OP here at all. I'm actually a games journalist, and I played this game. I didn't like the overly complex combat system, and how hard it was if you didn't follow set combos perfectly, the fact that all the exploration gameplay/platforming was basically Uncharted, with a less interesting narrative. And the memory rewinds had potential but ended up being trial and error. |
What ?
The combat system was extremely simplistic. That is the biggest flaw of the game and the main reason why reviewers didn't give it high scores.

I have liked many sequels. However, it's just me as an individual. I reckon that journalists, as opinion leaders, must drive the industry forward and condemn never-ending milking, which Mario is the most striking example, to make room for new ideas, new points of view that enrich our industry.

no, but I find it funny that everyone rushes to defend Mario, which kills creativity as much as FIFA, AC, COD (which I have also mentioned) do.

Mario is the least of this industries problem, it's a game on one home console and not the most popular one at the moment either. And the game isn't even on Nintendo consoles for Mario to steal it's shine. Mario games didn't stop great games from being acknowledged. The problem for this particular game was not that it wasn't good, it just didn't stand out amongst all the other great games out there at the moment. Competition is fierce.
Many great games came out last year, as is the norm for consoles on their way out. I kind of get what your saying though, and sometimes I wish certain games would get more attention. W101 comes to mind.
| ryuzaki57 said: BUT the biggest problem lies in those journalists who are incapable of driving this industry forward, refusing to promote innovation and new universes. Those guys have spent years brainwhasing people into buying FIFAs, CODs, GTAs, ACs, Marios and other over-milked stuff so that when different approaches to video games emerge, no one's there to pay attention. The vicious circle of killing creativity is now almost unstoppable. What did this site tell you? "this game doesn't deserve to sell", and of course, Mario is the game of the year. Where are we going like this? Should we play Mario for another 25 year, ditch new game creators, snub the efforts of writing great scenarios, kill off new IPs so that we can keep playing exactly the same thing, at the risk of never be able to say "wow" again when a great new experience comes to us? |
What a load of arrogant crap. The game was medicore, Mario and GTA weren't, deal with it.
Its nort the journalists job to drive the industry foward. They are there to report stuff, not promote anything just because its supposedly ''innovative''
