So they can continue to develop exclusive games for PS4? Why not? Sony didn't buy Insomniac and now they're making an exclusive game for the XBO.

I'd see that as Sony dodging a bullet then a missed opportunity, given Insomniacs painful decent into mediocrity over the past decade. They're a large studio too.

It would be better for Sony to focus on smaller, very talented teams. We'll see how The Order turns out, but RAD fit the bill in terms of studios Sony like to pick up.

While I agree that Insomniac is certainly declining (while ND show their true quality), Sony isn't really buying that small studios. In fact, they're expanding all their internal studios. ND has gone 2 teams, Guerllia is pretty big, SCE Santa Monica is pretty large too. Sucker Punch is quite small, but expanding rapidly.

If anything, Sony are trying to get a smaller portpholio of larger studios

When I said it fits the bill, I meant in terms of Sony's recent aquisitions. They've bought small to medium sized studios with an established history of working with Playstation or ones that show true talent and potential. For example, Insomniac were easily a bigger studio in terms of headcount than Media Molecule and Sucker Punch combined.

With what money?

Perhaps they could just give them some office buildings...

If The Order is successful, I'm fairly sure they will buy Ready at Dawn, yes.

But then again, they never bought Insomniac, so who knows.

This. They didnt buy Insomniac because Insomniac coudln't give them a majorly promising franchise.

Never, they have already sent back the dev kits

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I think Sony tried to buy them but the heads of the studio wanted to keep being independent

What games have Ready at Dawn made?

Daxter, the GOW PSP games, and the Okami port for the Wii. Nothing else that I know of.

True, though I'm not sure Media Molecule really play by the rules, they are just too weird to count

Sucker Punch were 80ish (I counted in the credits...) but suspect they will be much larger now

But you're right, Insomniac was 150+ at least

Definetly, studio is relatively small so they'd benefit a lot from 1st party assistance.
