Forums - Gaming - Sony is too cheap, And it's annoying me!

Sony puts their resources into making great games instead of bribing other companies to not release games on other systems.

Just look at the pathetic effort Microsoft made with the Xbox 360 over the past couple of years.

What do you expect from a company struggling to survive?
Anyways, Sony isn't that cheap. They invest in new IPs.

You have microsoft who just brought the gears IP, they also have titanfall, exclusive dlc's for the biggest games, dead rising 3 and so on.

Then you have sony.... 30 minutes of watchdogs dlc? No third party exclusives, besides an online f2p mmo that won't be out til atleast 2015. I respect sony's attitude towards indie gaming, but i didn't spend all this money to play some silly little 2 hour indie game.

Lastly. The only reason why i have a PS4 over the xbone is for 1 simple reason, i don't want to spend $500 on an underpowered console that plays inferior multiplats, but atleast the system has games, better games than the PS4 in fact.

Ummmm, I'd rather have sony finance a first party game than have them pay to keep it off of a platform. If ms wouldn't have payed for the rights of titanfall, then sony would have had another game, and ms could have financed a new exlusive project. 3rd party exclusives are bad for the consumer. Why would you want more of that? Also, sony owns a lot more studios, so there's that. And I'd rather play deep down, the order, infamous, killzone, and uncharted than dead rising, titanfall, and ryse.

It's late to complain about exclusives. with every year, more former exclusives join the 3rd party team. it's only a matter of time for things like titan fall. As for early DLC........that crap is over rated.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Sony doesn't need other people to make games for them cause they make better games than virtually any third party can... Granted Having money like MS is always nice but I think Sony's First Party > MS third party exclusive

Actually, the title originally had "Too". I just completely deleted half the title, and didn't notice i went to far.

Anyways, how about big third party exclusives? when will sony get any of them?

They already have, just not western games.

I always thought Nintendo and Microsoft were the cheap ones. At least when it came to the hardware.

Sony can make their own games. They've never needed to moneyhat a shit ton of games. Microsoft isn't in their league when it comes to first party development. Microsofts whole angle is that they need to cover up their weakness which is first party. They do this by amping up third party and it acts as a supplement to their weak third party. Microsoft always does this, but if there was any franchise Microsoft should've bought long ago its Gears.

Fear not. If there was anything to be learned form the 360 era it was that Microsoft buys games to the point where third parties realize multiplats are more important than Microsofts money. The profitability is higher that way. Sony will have their exclusives in due time but they want to make sure they are great. Just imagine how many new IP's Sony will come out with opposed to Microsoft this gen. Microsoft paid god knows how much just to have the status quo. Sony doesn't have to because they create their games.  Think about that. Sony has more room to out develop Microsoft even further this gen.

Come E3 things will be much different :)

I prefer the word persuade. Also, its funny nobody complains when Sony money hats exclusives.

Sony did release more games in the past few years, but how many were noteworthy? Last of Us and... lets just say time and money was better spent with 3rd party games.
