Forums - Nintendo - Did you only buy the Wii for the Nintendo games?

Yep. I regret buying it though. I think I purchased less than 10 games for its entire time out. I stood in line and everything for it. The Nintendo games for that console were so dumbed down and all around worse than than the n64/gamecube era. I've decided to stick with handheld to get my favorite Nintendo games. That's the best bet. They still make great handhelds at least.

Bought it for the motion controls, and for Mario Galaxy. Ending up buying over 30 games for it; first and third party.

No regrets.

Yes, I bought it for Brawl, Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Skyward Sword, Kirby, Xenoblade, and many more... And anyone that says the wii didn't have the best Nintendo games can go fuck themselves cause the wii had some of the highest rated Nintendo games to date and also freakishly higher than a ton of its competitors in terms of review rating

Also had some of the worst third party games I have seen in the history of the gaming industry and games like wii music doesnt count

And it also had at least two great third party titles: No More Heros and Muramasa

Bought it for Wii Sports. Stayed for Nintendo games in general. Ended up as a fantastic console in my mind.

Review scores were so inflated last gen. I don't think any long time Nintendo fan who actually played through Nintendo consoles is going to say that Wii had the best Nintendo games. I still to this day believe that that title belongs to the game cube. That console was home to the best modern Nintendo games.

Yes. Which by the way I enjoyed far less than the Nintendo games on N64, Gamecube and DS. Motion controls dragged them down for me, but that was only part of the problem. As a result, it wasn't my main console throughout the generation and I bought less than ten games for it.

I expect all of this to change with the Wii U though. So far it already has.

I bought it for Wii Sports. Brought me back into gaming. No shame. No regrets.

Yes, but I picked up several 3rd party games that I came to love as well. Looking back, it was a great purchase. Hopefully I can get the Wii-U in the next few months, too.

Hmm

I never had a Wii. My Wii U library is 80% 3rd party so no, I didnt buy it for Nintendo games only.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

this i dont know what jizz beard is on about, he sounds like hes reaching especially bringing reveiw scores in. Funny thing is guys like him never say WHY WIi had the best Ninty games, at least back it up with something. I bought Wii for the motion controls and Ninty games, both were a huge letdown. the motion controls were half assed. THe Ninty games themselves were just ok. THe only game that improved in my eyes was 3d Mario. The whole thing was a letdown.

And the 3rd party games sucked in general. the ones that were actually good had much better counterparts on the HD twins
