There's a good chance they will between their Japan launch, and the release of Titanfail.

I would implore you not to underestimate Titanfall. That game will sell very, very well. Its future iterations wont be exclusive to the Xbox if it sells well so it will be fine.

Depends on how many old/new fans come to Sony. I personally think so because Sony has more marketable assets.

Very unlikely. People are forgetting that PS4 had a mil headstart. If you subtract that, there isn't much of a difference between the two. It's waaay too early to make such a drastic prediction...only time and the games will tell.

Once Japan takes off and Uncharted is out....DUH!

LOL, it is not 1 mil head start, it's 1 week head start.  XB1 wouldn't close the gap if it had 1 more week.

Too many variables to be sure of anything. Clearly if the Xbox One starts falling behind Microsoft will adjust price.

Personally I will only be buying an Xbox One for exclusives as the ps4 should be a lot stronger for multi-platform titles. I think the ps4 will be the console to own this generation with its broad base of developers all round the world and superior hardware. This is why it should win but of course doesn't mean it will.

I think the japanese will love the ps4 but its not a market focused towards home consoles but it should do good numbers as will the far east in general for ps4.

Anyway we are getting close to the post launch abyss so see we can see how the numbers drop off. This is normally more revealing than the launch numbers.

Mainland Europe must already be favouring ps4 by quite a high ratio. Surely well past 2:1 and this market will become more significant as console prices drop.

I'm thinking PS4 vs Xbone/Wii U will be nearly the same as PS2 vs XBox/GC.

Nintendo and MS simply screwed up with their offerings and while Wii U may or may not do better than GC, XBone will out do Xbox but not meet X360 numbers and PS4 will approach PS2 numbers.

This is must my very early generation thinking based on mass appeal of each console. Of course something crazy could happen to each one that would redirect their respective demand.

Sony won on brand name. They did indeed have the better gaming library the past few years, but it didn't matter even when they didn't. Just look at 2007.
These were the well recieved exclusives that year
360 PS3

Bioshock(at the time) Motorstorm
Crackdown Heavenly Sword
Forza 2
Mass Effect
Project Gotham Racing 4

The 360 had more and the better exclusives by every measurable metric and it still got outsold that year. Sony was able to sell consoles on brand name alone.

I do think the ps4 will outsell the Xbox one by a greater margin than the ps3 will end up outselling the 360, but it will still be pretty close. The most hardcore gamers that voted in online gaming polls favored the ps4 2.5 to 1. The dedicated audience that bought their console the first year favored the ps4 1.25 to 1. Once the audience expands even more sales could get even closer if Microsoft plays their cards right.

Sony's big chance to capitalize though is that multiplatforms have so far ran better on the ps4. Last generation something like 90% of all games sold on the hd twins were multiplatform. These were the biggest IPs of each console.

If sony manages to bring mass market awareness about the multiplatform dispilarity it could be huge and the ps4 could indeed double One sales. I suspect other than price, the biggest reason microsoft managed to take a significant amount of the core audience from sony is simply because multiplatform games ran better on the 360 for the most part. 

Basically this gen compared to last gen the ps4 benefits from having the better multiplatform titles, having the lower price, and launching at the same time. It's disadvantage is that now brand awareness between playstation and xbox is much closer and now both consoles have pay to play online.
