I buy all the systems.  Why not?  If your a gamer and you like variety, it's best to have all current consoles.  Excluding your backyard consoles like the ouya.  Common, I don't want to have to buy a new system, 3 is enough every generation.  Along with portables....

Vita

Gran Turismo 6, a price cut to $149, and a couple good JRPG exclusives. Right now I'm only really interested in Uncharted & the Disgaea remakes; I need more then just that.

3DS

What I wanted was a 3DS XL in a decent colour, and an upgraded battery. I couldn't hold out after the solid black 3DS XL released. Fire Emblem & Pokemon really pushed me to buy the console.

So far I'm loving it. Best Fire Emblem ever, and possibly my favorite handheld ever. Pokemon is great, DS games look & play great, plus I'm looking forward to Bravely Default & SM 3D Land. I needed a 3DS because my DS tends to freeze when I move it around too much, and I always play on he go, so that's not good.

WiiU

What I want is a good console bundle. I was very tempted to buy a WiiU last fall, but I didn't care about the Mario Bros or Zelda Bundle. Had they still sold NintendoLand Bundles, I might have reconsidered. I likely will buy a WiiU in 2014, but not until they make a good bundle. Mario Kart 8 & Monolith Project X look great too.

PS4

Time mainly, why buy a PS4 when they still make so many great PS3 games, and when my PS3/360 backlog is so big? I had a bad experience with 1st gen Sony consoles, so I probably won't get one for a year or two, not until reliability improves, and not until games like Uncharted release. However with GT6 just released on PS3, and stuff like Drakengard 3 on the horizon, I just have no reason to upgrade so fast.

XBO

A Kinect-less console, a price <$249, and some games which I find interesting. Not into Halo after Bungie left, not into Gears after 3 concluded the trilogy, not into Forza after some developer decisions which I don't agree with (free upgrades, cars racing at identical PI, and never stock). So I'm going to need stuff like Lost Odyssey releasing on XBO before I buy it.

Say those games never come, I'll still likely get an XBO for Halo, it's a good co-op game. However if the games on't get better (multi-platform games don't count since I'll get a PS4 first), then I probably won't get an XBO until the price drops to <$149.

Gaming Spec PC

Got one cause my computer was over 10 years old, and struggled to play 720p movies. I mostly wanted something capabe of 1080p videos, and while I was at it I bought a decent graphics card & processor. So far I haven't played muc more then Starcraft 2 & SimCity, but come Titanfall, I think I'll really enjoy it

So far I really enjoy my 3DS, and my PC is nice too.

I'm a big Nintendo fan so WiiU was inevitable for me. I bought it at launch because of NSMBU, which I loved, and then... well... I loved the tablet as a browser for several months. Then I started loving the console again since August.

Regarding the other home consoles I'm not interested yet, but a new Bioshock would change that pretty fast.

I bought my 3DS at launch and I wish I had waited for the price drop since the launch games weren't great.  Love the "free" ambassador games, though.  Great system.

its only natural for any gamer to buy a next gen console. No need for a must own game from the get go i think.

So far i have a ps4, wii u and psvita.

Do i enjoy this consoles? well, i would say not that much,to be honest i've played just a few games on ps4 and wii u, so 7th gen consoles are yet to be replaced on my living room for good. Psvita is getting a lot of my atention lately, mostly because psn plus deals.

3DS

I bought a 3DS because i wanted 3D and the graphics were so much better than DS. Also I love pilotwings series. Basically it's Nintendo.


PSvita

I thought it would do remote play on pstwee. Buncha malarkey. I thought it would get ports of triple A's like Read Dead. Fooled again. I had no idea it wouldn't get any action adventure games. I'm very disappointed in the software. The Hardware is fantastic. Pretty much what i should have expected from a hardware company.


Wii U

Touchscreen on a console controller. Had to have it. Nintendo series in HD. MXust buy. Tons of action adventure games. Zombi U was impressing me too, I wanted to play it so bad. I'm a bit disappointed there's no gamecube on virtual console, i thought we'd get that. Basically it's Nintendo.


xONE

I expected myself to get one since i've always been an xbox fan. I like kinect and the prospect of an american power. Killer Instinct should have convinced me to get it... but for some reason i'm unconvinced. It is expensive. I'd rather buy games than hw. The cost of online deters me. Halo stopped interesting me after 3. I have an htpc so i don't see myself getting one ever.


Ps4

I always end up with a sony system, i've own every one of them. Yet every time I'm left disapointed in the end, mostly due to not liking sony's series. The ps3 is easily my favorite of sony's toys. Ps3 was tons o' fun barring the tiny dual shock 3. So i see no reason to buy a ps4 except the dual shock 4. Like i aid earlier, i have an htpc. So i'm future proof. Sony always lets me down and i'm happy with what i've got.


The only thing that could make me buy another system is gta, red dead, or elder scrolls skipping pc.

Wii U, have one and kind of regret it. I'll never sell it, holding out for several 1st and 3rd party exclusives even though its image has been severly tainted in my eyes. That hasn't stopped me from getting many games on it though, as a PC gamer I wanted a console experience after sitting out last gen.
I plan on getting a PS4 for Sony and Console exclusives like Uncharted, Flower,Final Fantasy, Tekken and Metal Gear. I was under the impression the WiiU would get these games and I would only need one 8th gen system. I was WRONG.

PC for everything  else, loved it from day 1 in 2008.

Found it for under £130 when it was first released (RRP was £200 I believe) and thought it was a bargain. Went on to buy a few more limited edition 3DSs and now have a bunch of them lying around. I only really enjoyed it after the 3DS XL came out and when I got the chance to play Kingdom Hearts, OoT 3D and Mario 3D Land. It was overall a worthwhile purchase.

Vita

Loved the look of it when  first announced. As a Sony fanboy and someone who loves handhelds, I decided to purchase it on release with an 8gb memory card and Rayman Origins for around £230. It became my favourite handheld and was used almost every single day. It also helped me deal with the pressure of University by allowing me to play console quality titles on the go. Unfortunately it broke after a year and so I decided to purchase another one and I can say, without a doubt, that it is the most used console/handheld in my household and most definitely my favourite handheld.

PS4

Bought the solus on day of release for full price mainly due to hype and remote play. Played with it for a while but decided to flog it for a profit . After a week I ordered the player bundle (camera+ 2 controllers + killzone) which is when I really got a chance to play with it. Mainly use it for remote play, netflix and AC4 and feel really impressed with it. Great purchase.

Wii U

Bought this twice. I first bought it due to the innovative off-tv play with the gamepad. Unfortunately, not a lot of games utilised that feature and I was pretty much sick of the NSMB reskin. Decided to sell it off and bought it again when the Windwaker HD bundle was out. Now that I've finished Zelda WW, I regret my purchase as there is nothing else that I want to play. It's possibly the only next-gen purchase that I regret but if Nintendo can make a comeback next year and release a number if quality, I might be convinced to change my mind.

I already have a PS4 & Wii U. I had a XB1 too, but decided to get rid of it before opening.

I will buy the XB1 when there are a few must have exclusives and maybe a bit cheaper.

I expected those "types" of games smarty pants. Gamers cannot live on Mario alone
