Forums - Gaming - What Pushed or Will push you to Buy each next- gen console? Have you enjoyed it so far?

If you absolutely are set in your ways and dont plan on buying one please dont make a smart remark on why you arent, just dont name it at all.  Also say why you bought it or will buy it.  And have you liked your purchase thus far

For me

WiiU

I bought it for the Promise of Smash Bros and Zelda.  It also helped that it was the only next gen console in 2012 so I picked it up at launch.  So far the purchase just hasn't been worth it.  I haven't bought a game since launch.  ZombiU was pretty good but beyond that I have lost a lot of interest.  Im not a big fan of mario games.  Sorry, i just find them a bit too easy.

EDIT: I bought Wind Waker HD.  Forgot about that lol

3DS

I simply bought this one because of Pokemon.  I didnt care how long i had to wait , i just wanted it.  I was super hyped for it when they announced it, funny thing is, I didnt buy a 3DS game until 2 months after I bought it.  I basically just played Pokemon BW when it first launched. PS Pokemon XY was so worth that launch $250  and the long ass wait haha  Very possibly one of the best consoles I have ever owned.

PSV

Tearaway pushed me to get it as well as Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 being on the console.  It also helps that it has a pretty decent backlog with Killzone, LBP, Gravity Rush, and a few others.  Have to say im really loving the vita so far. Simply the quality opf this thing is just out standing and Ive always liked the portable experience.

XBO

When PS4/XBO was first announced I didnt really care for either reveal to be completely honest.  It wasnt until E3 that I decided to get XBO as I was very impressed with their 2013/2014 lineup.  TitanFall, Halo, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct, Ryse, and XBL was the primary reasons I decided to pick it up.  While Ryse was a bit of a letdown to me Killer Instinct has been a blast with already over 40 hours recorded of playtime.  Frankly it has been the best fighter I have played along with Mortal Kombat. Respectfully I just dont care for Street Fighter, sorry guys.  Anyways loving the XBO so far. It does need to tune up the dashboard though.  Kinect has been phenomenal and all, but I find the X360 dashboard better.  Id rank it somewhere between X360 and PS3's dashboards.

PS4

I don't own it yet but I am jelous of you Killzone Shadowfall owners :P  I bought PS3 for Killzone 2 and loved it.  Right now it isnt enough for me to purchase it but I will definitely be getting it when Uncharted releases.  Unless they announce something before then that is also just as impressive to me.

Mario games aren't that easy Jay! The last special world in Super Mario 3D World is pretty hard. Anyway even if they are too easy they are fun! You should give the games a chance!

Anyway on to my list.

Wii U- I have one and I don't regret it. I use it quite often but I do admit it's kinda dissapointing so far. Wind Waker HD ended up being my least favourite Zelda game .The thing that pushed me to buy it are Nintendo games and so far, so good.

3DS- I got it to play Nintendo games and SMT IV and Soul Hackers. So far it's excellent, my favourite portable! I can play DS games and 3DS ones, it's perfect! Love it!

Vita- The only thing that makes me want one is Persona 4 Golden. But I won't spend so much money on just one game. Maybe later when it gets cheap or something.

PS4- Nothing at all so far! I guess you could ay FF XV and KH 3 but I fisrt have to see how those two come out. Uncharted is also a cool reason to have one, but I'm in no hurry to get one.

Xbox One- If it wasn't so expensive I would really consider it! Never tried Halo so I would like to try it out.

OOps, i forgot about Wind Waker.  I did buy that xD  I havent beat it yet though.  I got tou the 8 shards or something like that and then i got sidetracked with other games -_-  I liked it though, good game if you ask me.  Simply put it prob has one of the best art designs ive ever seen as well.

And Ill be trying Mario World eventually.  Everybody seems to love it so why not haha

Oh and P4G is amazing xD  If you ever get a vita def get it.

PSV: i got it for the hardware, the beautiful screen, the psp digital backwards compatibility, the games. enjoying it very much, one of the best systems i ever had.

PS4: will get it once it starts getting the jrpgs released. i know they're coming but those titles always take forever to release, won't get it while i'm still swamped in ps3 jrpgs releasing left and right. cant wait to play ffxv though =)

Wii U: when i can get it under 200 and it has some tempting games, like at least 2 or 3 jrpgs. X is looking good so let's hope they get a few more like that one. and confirmation that X can be played with a classic controller would be best.

I bought the Wii U because of the controller (gamepad), without even checking any of the games.
THE GAMES I own so far are:
-Nintendo land
-Pikmin 3
-The wonderful 101
-Tekken tag tournament two
-Lego city undercover
-New super mario Bros U
-Rabbids land
-Just Dance 2014
-Super Mario 3D world

i bought the Wii U and 3ds for the nintendo games and i have to admit that i've never enjoyed a console more than I enjoy the wii u. Definitely not regretting that purchase. 3 ds is great too but it didn't amaze me like the ds did the games are amazing anyway though

X does look pretty amazing.  I never played Xenoblade but i heard good stuff about it.  You should be able to play it with the pro-controller though.

Wii U

I bought it at launch and since that day I am enjoying it. Mario Kart 8 and X from Monolith Soft will be system sellers. Mario Kart is so awesome I heard people talking about buying a Wii U just because of that game and after Xenoblade more people know the upcoming X and its amazing graphics and if the story is such as good as the Wii game the people will buy a Wii U. I think it's safe. Because of the 3DS version Smash wont be a system seller and the new Zelda game should have a great style and it will have the potential to be one, too.

3DS

I bought a 3DS XL just because of Pokémon and after TLoZ: A Link between Worlds I do not know a must have in the next months.

Vita

The 3DS is the best Handheld I thought and I think the Vita is not that good. But just because of Tearaway I changed my mind. Come on, this game is just unique and epic. That's a masterpiece and maybe I will buy a Vita for a low price someday.

PS4

There aren't such great exclusives this days for the PS4. Only Killzone: Shadow Fall looks really interesting these days because of its graphics and the shooter gameplay. But a new GT (7) would be a reason for me to buy this hyped console.

Xbox One

I never had a Xbox and there is only one thing I missed: Halo. This is the reason a lot of people and me eventually are going to buy a Xbox One. Titanfall looks really nice but it's no Halo. Quantum Break can be a system seller, too but there aren't information yet to say that.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

Well i already have a PS4, as i was given as a birthday present :p So i'll right this on the basis i was never given one, and was deciding when to buy one myself.

X1: They either need to get rid of the Kinect 2, or reduce the price the same level as the PS4. I have no intention of spending an additional £80 on something I will likely never plug in. Otherwise i'll probably get one in a few years when it's exclusive collection is large enough for me to not mind the added on paper weight.

WiiU: I really cant see myself getting one any time soon. I don't need 3 home consoles along with my PC, and i already have a 3DS to meet my Nintendo needs, so there's not much of a spot for it to fill.

PS4: Probably sometime at the end of 2014, perhaps around Christmas. Price wise it already seems reasonable, though if a price cut came along before then i'd probably get it earlier. Right now it's just doesn't have a big enough library to justify the purchase.

i'm a gamer,.. i don't need no stinkin' push. i knew i was going buy next-gen 5 years ago.

...just waiting to finish up my backlog. ni no kuni, tomb raider, bioshock infinite, the last of us, ratchet and clank into the nexus, beyond, and puppeteer. i was hoping i could finish in time for infamous SS but that's a lot of games for 3 months.
