You're right it is only Sonic games, Bayonetta is not actually Sega's IP it's PG's, Sega have the publishing rights for the original game only the deal for B2 was solely between Nintendo and PG.

I think Sega still owns the IP (as part of their 4 game deal with Platinum) they just chose not to publish a sequel. At least, Platinum lists them along with Nintendo as the holders on their website. Sega even recently announced a Bayonetta anime at TGS I believe. Not sure if it came out yet though.

From what I hear Sega had a deal to publish 4 PG games (Bayonetta, Vanquish, Madworld and Infinite Space), they have the publishing rights to these games but don't own the actual IPs which is why Nintendo could negotiate with PG. The anime is based on the first game which Sega has the rights to.

As much as I want to believe it'll happen...I just can't. More likely just a nod from Sumo that fans want it and Sega being perfectly fine trolling us with it.

I'll throw in the most unlikely scenario ever.

An exclusive Nintendo Direct coming out in January... Iwata is dressed with a blonde spiky wig. It looks ridiculous but... it's kinda familiar... Suddenly the screen goes black and the main theme of Final Fantasy 7 kicks in...

Final Fantasy 7 Remake only for Wii U. Followed by a promise of a remake for Final Fantasy 8 and 9.

Still a pointless scenario as if that ever happened I doubt it would save the Wii U.

Ignore him... He will try to annoy you under TOS and provoke you also if possible... Just wait for him to slip and report him...
