Played Wii DK, I can barely see any improvement, apart of the graphics.

A Metroid game would tank worse. So there's that.

I suspect DKC: Tropical Freeze 3D on the 3DS will be showing up in 2015, so even if Wii U sales are a bit soft, they can make up for it by putting it on the larger 3DS usberbase.
