So what? It's obviously given all of you a rise to hear what I have to say. Otherwise you would ignore what I post instead of egging me on further.

This whole topic reminds me of the joke of Ninjabread Man. Everyone would claim it to be the most hyped third party game, jokingly of course, until it's grand failure when it hit retail. It's just like that, except you're all serious about this game. I mean come on "New bar for all 3rd Party" is REALLY stretching it. Someone already commented how much of a disservice that is to the quality 3rd party titles Wii has and is expecting. There are SO many other games that deserve the attention you're giving this game. This is actually the second of two topics it has recieved, based off of the same press release from THQ.

I may not be interested in the game, but my reaction was not to the game, but to the reaction this game was getting from forum members. If you want quality 3rd party for Wii then why not make topics about games that have a fighting chance of being something? THQ is a company that laughs in your face as it shovels out junk for consoles. They are responsible for so much of the shovelware Wii has in it's lineup already. There shouldn't be support for them, they should be ignored.

Why not hype up the next Tales of Symphonia, or Baroque, or Opoona, the Okami port, Alone in the Dark, Blast Works, Boom Blox, Harvest Moon Heroes, Rygar: the Battle of Argus, LEGO Indiana Jones, Samba De Amigo Wii, Emergency Mayhem, Guitar Hero III: Aerosmith, Monster Lab, Top Spin Tennis, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, Deca Sports, Castle Shikigami 3, Don King Presents: Prizefighter, Facebreaker, LEGO Batman, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, Space Station Tycoon, Rock Band, and We Love Golf? Even THQ has better titles coming out. Both Band Mashups and de Blob deserve more attention than this garbage.

If you want better Wii support, then stop settling for mediocrity.

Nah, I'm actually only reading the first paragraph of this post. First couple sentences of the posts with no paragraphs at all. You think I have the time to read your angry rants? They just stand out because they're so huge.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

according to the wii-ky in review postcast from IGN:

-Matt mentions that some people thought that the trailer shown on IGN is “CGI”. It in fact is NOT, according to THQ. It is real-time graphics. “Hopefully that’s true..” Says Bozon

So it's not CGI so damn rainbow studios nice work if this is true.

definitely looks interesting...

can't say I've ever seen a game with that premise before....

not sure If I'll play it, but it could surprise us.

You're really taking this game's existence as a personal offense. And all we have are screens and a teaser trailer. I'm not sure there's that much there to get this worked up about.

Thank you. My point exactly. You're all getting so hyped and worked up over a teaser trailer and a press release involving a tarantula and a scorpion vs. gila monsters and insects. It wasn't me who claimed this was of 360 and PS3 quality, or that it looked like it was using the Unreal 3 Engine, or that it was setting a new bar for Wii third party games, it was the topic maker. I'll give you guys another way to look at it. If this we're coinciding with some Pixar movie, you wouldn't have given it a second look. That's all this game really looks like is some Disney manufactured animal vs. animal vs. man movie which is what THQ builds it's mediocre lineup around. I'm calling it like I see it. PS3 is getting Metal Gear Solid 4, 360 is getting Ninja Gaiden 2, and Wii is getting Deadly Creatures. Wow!

Dude, you're getting more excited about this than anybody else here.

We get it. You're not interested. That's okay. You're the most aggressively non-interested person I've seen in a long time. Maybe you should channel that energy into something constructive.

Ok, Onyxmeth, this is getting ridiculous.

 1. If you're comparing top-tier games, give the PS3 MGS4, 360 NG2, and Wii Fatal Frame 4.  It's like if I said Wii is getting Mario Galaxy, 360 is getting Dead Rising, and PS3 is getting Eight Days.  DR and ED are good games, not great, system-selling games.  This is what Deadly Creatures looks to be.

 2. So you're saying that Rainbow 6: Vegas 2 would be crap if it coincided with the release of a Rainbow Six movie, right?  Gotcha.  Makes perfect sense.

3. No one's getting overhyped.  All I've seen is people saying that this game looks very impressive, graphically, for a Wii game, and that the premise has them excited because it's never been done before.

 4. Actually, THQ is a highly skilleda nd popular developer.  They've made most of the best wrestling games ever made.  Smackdown?  Wrestlemania 2000?  WCW/NWO Revenge?  Any of this ringing a bell?  They know how to make intenes fights.

The rest I left unbolded because it's your opinion, which you are entitled to, but come on man, SERIOUSLY!

i think all those people who are saying why are wii owners getting excited about the gfx are missing the point.

The main reason they are getting excited is NOT because they are like the best gfx ever done so far, but because FINALLY a 3rd party developer put effort into making the game look like a Wii game should and not a N64 gfx type game like those iamges pasted earlier above.

I for one agree yes it isn't that visually awesome but it is definetly a BIG improvement over the crap thats been released so far.

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

The story is laughable but the graphics are okey.
Not going to be on my wishlist though.

Lets hope that it will flop and it will be ported to the PS3/P :P ( Joking ) .

Cool idea actually . Because its Animal Planet style , this could also go into childrens hands to ... the graphics are looking great , and man I liked the trailer ( especially the end when the snake gives a final blow ) .

Excuse me for wanting games of quality on my Wii. When I say I want third party support, I mean GOOD third party support. THQ never aims for the fences on any of it's games. This game proves it. You guys are eating up the controls, saying it's intuitive and creative, when nobody outside of the developers have actually played it yet. You watched a trailer. Look at the audacity of the topic maker himself. "Raising the bar for Wii 3rd party support", "Unreal Engine 3 on Wii", "Is this 360 or PS3 quality". This is a diservice to the Wii for having this nonsense and a diservice to other third parties putting in a real effort. If THQ was planning on making a killer application for the Wii, they wouldn't have used Rainbow Studios to make it. A developer is only as good as their past work. This is a site of facts and figures, so I'm going by straight statistics here. you are all ogling over the pretty pictures and calling it a day. I am being objective, and not letting a press release warp my vision of what is obviously just another mediocre game from THQ. Did you really think they were going to knock this game? Did you think they werent going to use the highest quality images and a touched up video to present this game with? I'll show you all what I mean. Here's every game Rainbow Studios has developed and you be the judge:

Yep that's right. Nothing but racing games. Nothing but average racing games. This is a studio that makes absolutely nothing but racers, and still can't learn from it's mistakes and make a great one. You're telling me that they can switch genres, make a much larger project and have it come out halfway decent? The facts do not lie. Anyone thinking that THQ can offer support as a developer can think again. Here's the top 5 developed by THQ's internal studio:

1. Playstation 2: Nicktoons Movin' (EyeToy) (2004) 75
THQ

2. GameBoy Advance: SpongeBob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman (2002) 71
THQ

3. GameBoy Advance: Monster House (2006) 69

4. GameBoy Advance: Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island (2006) 69

5. PC Games: SpongeBob SquarePants: Lights, Camera, Pants! (2005) 68
THQ

Top 5 Wii games published in 2007:

13. Wii: Barnyard (2006) 65
THQ

14. Wii: Cars (2006) 65
THQ

12. Wii: Ratatouille (2007) 62
THQ

6. Wii: WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008 (2007) 59
THQ

10. Wii: Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Burning Earth (2007) 58
THQ

The only platform that THQ puts TRUE quality in is the PC. S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Company of Heroes, Warhammer 40,000, Supreme Commander, all quality. THQ's console efforts are the bread and butter behind their quality PC efforts. If anyone wants to call me defensive, angry, and unnecessarily bitter again, back it up with facts and figures, not photoshopped trailers of games about arachnids fighting gila monsters.

Oh and BTW, yes i've played Cars through a demo disc from Official U.S. Playstation Magazine right before they stopped packaging the discs, thank you very much. It's 20 minutes of my life i'll never get back.
