But the hardware specs and the price of the Vita were already announced when Nintendo dropped the price of the 3DS.
Do you really think, the announcement of a much faster handheld for the same price had nothing to do with adjusting the price of the 3DS?
If Sony decides to drop out of the handset market, they should either allocate their game development resources to support the PS4 or spin them off. Sony really isn't in the business of developing games, as opposed to Nintendo.
Their business model is based around the fact that they're a conglomerate and try to generate economies of scope, with the PS4 and the Vita serving as a platform to do so.
Nintendo's business model used to be about profiting off the hardware and off royalties by having a large install base. With the loss of margins on their hardware and their small install base, Nintendo would do better by either liquidating or changing their business model to that of a game developer, since they have such a core competency in that.

If you could choose between Nintendo games on Sony hardware and Sony games on Nintendo hardware, what would you choose?
I remember a thread awhile ago along the line of "what Vita titles would you like to see on the 3DS" and amongst his reason of asking this question was because of the lacking sales on both the Vita and it'software
as I said to him is what proof do we have that the sales would be greater if on a bigger userbase; true the game has the potential to sell better because of the bigger install base but:
1) what again makes you think the Vita fanbase and the 3ds fanbase are the same type of people
2) which relates to the question in #1; is within the install base lies different types of gamers; core/casual/and those in the middle...this speacially is show in the DS brand as certainly those 140+ mil people who bought one all didn't have one game in mind when buying it
we have no definite proof a game such as Tearaway(since you used that in you op) would have done better sales wise if on the 3DS...though the small sales the Vita does have it still bring competetion, If Nintendo had it's way their would be no alternative to whatever they presented to the market.

I imagine that you cry because there are some great indie games on 3DS that Vita doesn't have, but the 3DS indie games don't get nearly as much recognition. Possibly because there are more than just indie games to play on 3DS. |
Really? Like what?
I don't know if the EU eShop is any different, but it's pretty damn bare.

The reason Microsoft entered the hardware market was to stop Sony for getting pure dominace in it. If they drop outof hardware buisiness they would probably sell of their devs.

Or they could go back to what they did before Xbox: make some good PC games. Something Sony actually still does on a fairly regular basis. :O

1- It has a separate touch screen(much better than analog sticks for aiming, IMO) and CCP has a 2nd analog stick anyway
2- I've been playing quite a few Nintendo games online here. No lags at all, quick matchmaking, even voice chat support on some games.
3- 3DS has quite a few indie games, including ones that aren't on the Vita.
4- Agreed. OLED > everything.
5- That's your opinion. I actually prefer playing those games on handhelds LOL
6- I do. Back when we had only the GBA, GBC and GB, they received all the awesome games, and, IMO, their game library was much better than current handhelds. Since Sony entered handheld space, great games splitted between two consoles, meaning we have to spend more money to get all the goodness.
