In USA it did good, 240k vs 300k for 3D Land opening week
Japan not as much, 100k vs 340k for 3D Land opening week and Japan is very handheld centric these days
We dont know Europe numbers yet but 3D Land did 140k, as long as it does 60k opening week then it will be 400k+ in the big 3 territories so id say thats not bad

There's your reason for why 3D Land did so well in comparison to 3D World. Japan ain't got time for Home Consoles. Especially ones with 3D Mario games being the most interesting game on them.

Good thread name. People from all sides will prospectively bite.

Should do 500k first week, that's pretty good on a userbase of 4m.

It didn't do all that well in Japan, which isn't a massive surprise, Japan seems to be less and less relevant for home consoles and their software with each passing year.
It seems to have done well in North America though and Europe is somewhat of a toss-up at this point.
With the legs it's sure to have, I think it will do very well, I wouldn't be surprised to see a 20-25% attach rate, especially with bundles.

We are not bullying the kid. It's just that the kid is too nice for its own good, no wonder everyone picks on him.

ya, and 3d world only had 2 days of sales while 3D land had a full week of sales releasing in november 13 ( 300k on VGchartz was november 19.)

i hope to see 300k+ in the next week with black friday + full week of sales.

To put it in perspective, in its first couple of days:

Japan - about 1/12th of system owners bought it.

USA - about 1/6th of system owners bought it.

EDIT: Not counting digital, of course.

Considering the install base and that Mario games have good to great legs, overall I'm not seeing a huge flop, but the jury is still out on whether or not it proves itself as a true system seller. I sure hope it does; the game is absolutely stellar.

You're really expecting an opening of around 160k in Europe? I've been thinking that Europe's intake of Nintendo games has been going down. 160k actually seems kind of high, I think.

It doesn't need to sell 160k, more like 100k retail. We didn't get NoA numbers yet (only US)+ Rest of the World + there is digital sales evenif its ony 15k-20k

here in brazil its doing pretty well, i got mine earlier, the store sended me the game one day before the launch date (november 29), i dont know how many units nintendo shipped to brazil, but Super Mario 3D World was sold out in the launch date at all the official stores.

i expect at least 500k worldwide next week, and i`m hoping to see wii u selling no less than 180k, otherwise wii u is DOOMED
