even when they track hardware, they're off nearly by 2-4 million at times until they adjust it all in one time when the hardware makers reveal their official numbers.  

vg numbers are the complete opposite of fact.  

True, I really don't get why people are surprised by the PS4 drop this week, those consoles are sold out everywhere and supply will be small compared to demand over the next couple weeks. PS4 next week will be massive again but after that the sales will plummet again due to restricted supply.

Better than nothing though. You're right about the inaccuracies though, but even 'proper' trackers like Media Create and Famitsu are only estimates and publisher/manufacturer numbers are only shipments, which although useful can't tell you exact numbers for actual sales.

Sony send 1.4 million console to north america and it was sold out in few days. Its undertracked...

Yeah but it's on a smaller install base. Kind of weird. The X1 price might be having some influence on how much software people are willing to buy for it.
