Nono.....you have to read between the lines (hate). Such venom towards the console and constant cracking jokes at its expense without pausing to see the reality vs social stigma CLEARLY means that it is universally expected to bomb sales-wise.

Hate = 250k globally week 1. I don't make the rules here. Guess they will be super suprised that people actually bought an underpowered and expensive console :)

Still waiting.

The venom was MS's own doing...........................It;s their job to market and get the message out to make people think positively about a product... Stop blaming others for MS issues.

Every post ever = 250 k global week 1. I can't make it any simpler then that.

There were many posts with 4 to 1, 3 to 1, 5 to 1 for PS4.

The very worst case for the One in NA is 700k, less than a 3 to 1 for the PS4.

US <> world......Sony just being even let alone ahead of Ms in the US is a huge win for them. In europe there will be a  big gap. I don't think anyone expected 4 or 5:1 in the US lol.

I'm one of the people I think you are refering to.... I'm no hoping anything, I wish Xbox One the best sales they can get. My prediction is based on information i get through internet.

If Xbox One sold 150k in UK from the 1 million total (more or less) announced by Microsoft, I assumed that the number of total Europe and Others might be around 350-400k, so....1 million minus 350-400k is something around 600-650 for North America.

Of course i might be wrong, but that's the risk to try to figure out sales numbers....

Might be? you will be wrong.

How is 700k the very worst case for the One in NA? Using sales ratios for the 360 this past week and the 150k figure in the UK, you get only about 500k for USA. It's very likely to be above that since the UK seems to have had worse supply problems than America, but I'd consider 500k the very worst case.

Also I don't think those sales ratios were for day one. Everyone knows at launch supply matters way more than demand. Those people will probably be wrong, but it's too early to label them as such.

I don't think anyone expected a flop at launch (or if they did, they certainly weren't representitive of most people. The question is how will it do over it's first year or two. I'm not expecting complete doom, but I reckon that PS4 will pull steadily ahead in the medium or long term

It's obvious that the xbox one is going to sell as many consoles as they make right now...  I think the following is being overlooked though:

1. US Marketshare - Splitting marketshare with Sony in the US is something MS is going to have to get used to.

2. Resolution Gate - COD Preorders is one area where the Xbox had an advantage before resolutiongate. Those numbers have flipped since, which is going to turn into a real Software sales lead for the PS4.

3. Sony will still dominate other countries - A free Fifa game isn't going to cure that.

In response to the OPs title, maybe the most anti MS fanboy is going to be disappointed, but the reality is, MS is going to lose a good deal of marketshare this generation.

The One will fail, it's inevitable.
