I don't know about a 40% failure rate, but judging by the ratio of 1-star BLOD reviews on amazon.com, it certainly seems to be a real concerning and on-going issue.

when judgeing u may want to use a source worth a damn not bs like amazon reviews.

Oh, there is a lot of selective believing going on around this issue. For me, I've ever seen a product with such a high ration of failure rates after a few days on Amazon, and it would be incredulous to believe that these are all just MS shills. There clearly is an issue, the question is just, how bad is it really?

If you look at those 1 star reviews on Amazon, you'll notice that 99% of them are from non-verified purchases. That means they're fake. It also seems like the legitimate 1 star reviewers are getting replacements today.

Pure rubbish. By far the majority are from verified purchases.

The majoroty of positive reviews, yes.

I also noticed a lot of fake 1 star reviews for the Xbox One, putting it at 3 stars overall. Are you still going to go by Amazon reviews? Do you think that's actually and intelligent thing to do?

It must be too early for me to be on VGChartz because I only just now noticed that you only have 169 posts. I'll remember to ignore you from now on until you establish yourself here.

We are talking about the 1-star DOA reviews, on Amazon.com, of which the vast majority are from *verified* purchases. The XB1 1-star reviews on Amazon.de has ZERO verified purchases.

As for bringing up my number of points - it is common for a debater to attack his opponent's credibility when he's run out of valid arguments.

You never had a valid argument to begin with as you based your posts on unsubstantiated hyperbole. Therefore, there's no point in conversating with you. Don't expect another reply from me.

The guy showed himself to be a liar when he said "30% of the reviews were 1-star DOA reviews from verified purchaser" when there aren't even 30% 1-star reviews total and the vast majority of those 1-star reviews aren't from verified purchasers. He's trying to take the smallest thing and stretch it to spread as much FUD as possible

Mine has been working fine other than Knack locking up a few times in level 8, though that seems to be an issue with that game, not my system.

We all seen real defective product release, it was called xbox 360 and its defectivness was rather legit.

Its called commom sense as in Amazon probably sold tens of thousands of PS4 in the US being the biggest online retailer a few neg reviews really measn shit all especially how their validity cant even be truested.  And a high amazon complaints can easily be atttributes to the sheer fact that a MILLION Ps4 were sold in a day.

No shit no other console had as many amazon complaits as fast, they sold at 1/10th the rate.

Like any hardware some will have problems.

Apple sells as many iPhones and iPads in 6 months than Sony sells Playstations per generation. Yet they have nowhere near the ratio of defective reviews on Amazon - so your argument about volume is fallacious.

I really don't understand why people are so desperate to cover this up. There is clearly an issue - even Sony has admitted to it. If you think this is within "expected norms of electronics" then your expectations are too low.

Most iphones are sold through carriers not amazon, my point is valid when talking consoles and amazon.

And most apple users wouldnt ever even admit their almighty apple sold them a broken product.  it goes agianst their religion.  While gamers tend to be rather vocal any time there are displeased.

Whos covering anything up.04 to 1% has been officialy said.

And anyone using amazon reviews to extrapilate any sort of rate is plain old ignorant, especially as none know how many Ps4 amazon sold to make any half assed attempt to quantify Ps4 failure rate.

situation. There are 7 reports of XBone issues, so that means they're all breaking! And it's only 7 so far. To deny these *sneer* damning statistics is you just covering up that Microsoft has put out a bad product

When almost 30% of the reviews on your product is 1-star DOA reviews from verified customers, then the problem can hardly be described as "small, small, *small*". And there are almost a thousand of them, not the 8 you are talking about.

30% of what, reviews. You do comprehand vast majority of people that order products will not go review it posativly.

ohh shit amazon shipping replecments in "SNUG PACKAGING" seems alot of those dead PS4 came to people in beat to shit crap amazon packaging.

well it took a week but mines just died and I cant get a refund, or exchange due to no systems being available=( it started with the screen not displaying right then ps4 started flashing the blue light....this sucks=(

We all know you dont own a ps4. A quick glimpse at your lost history is enough evidence.

There are legitimate people experiencing issues, but that post is a perfect example of why all these launch day issues of both consoles are FUD.

I apologize if she really does own a PS4 with this problem.

According to PS4 users on Reddit, yes.

Oh and there is a fairly serious "Share" bug.  Basically, in some unidentified circumstance, when you press Share the video won't record of your recent gameplay, but is offering video from hours or even days prior.

Yes they are still breaking. 1 out of every 100 units consumers buy is defective.

40 percent fail rate that's like one out of every 10 ps4 breaking it not even that high.
It's like 5 percent fail rate
