Possible. They probably replace complete files that contain also resources besides code. So the patch can be big although the changes in the files are small.

Only 140MB? Unless the 1080p textures are already on disc, sounds like complete bullshit to me. Check out this thread of mine. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=172312&page=1# I won't bother editing it, but yet another coincidence that the PS4 patch only lands once the Xbox One retail version is available for sale. |
It is bullshit, all they did was switch out FXAA for something less blurry, proabably SMAA. Game looks exactly the same otherwise. The textures aren't high-res to begin with anyways, the game is a PS360 port.

yes.
And I go even further: Everybody who claims that he would notice any differences during gameplay is a LIAR
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

well, depends on your package structure. if the module you are editing code contains images or other stuff, and the development process isn't that evolved, you are forced to deploy the whole package. that's how it works for rich client framework i work with (yeah yeah, nothing to do with game developlent).
so i don't think you can tell that because the filesize of the patch...
must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:
WiiU: Donkey Kong
XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

Sorry, but i can't agree with you....If I can see the difference in my laptop of 15'' with the zoom, i can SECURE you that i will see it in my 42'' FULL HD tv.
Maybe i have best eyesight than the average people.....

Then you still have more changes than just the actual code you wrote ;)

I don't mind be called a liar if it makes you feel better. I'm personally not gonna buy any games this gen if they aren't 1080p.

I will quote you on that one!
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
depends obviously how you look at it. sit in a small room close to your 50 inch tv and you will see it. sit in a normal living room with a table and some room between the tv and the table and you will probably see not much except for the better anti-aliasing.
with a 60 inch tv you will also see some difference even with some room between you and the tv. with a 32 inch tv you will probably not see a difference on your tv even without much room between you and your tv.
much more important is that they added better anti-aliasing. that's at least what they said and that is something most people will notice even without noticing how sharp the picture is.
the thing is, if you compare these pictures side by side you see it. if you will play one version today and the other next week you wil probably not know which was better if someone would ask you (i would bet that this would be the case with 90% of posters in gaming forums)

Feel free to. BF4 is the only game I have so far that is available for next gen consoles.
