Well saying you don't understand why the system isn't selling probably makes your estimates fairly off base. 

The system is trending considerably below the GameCube right now which fizzled at around 22 million. 

It NEEDS Mario + Mario Kart just to sell at GameCube levels I think. Right now it's way below -- case in point, October 2013 NPD for Wii U is 50k-60k (lets be nice and say it was on the highest end, so 59k). The GameCube sold 168k it's second October by comparision, that's more than double.  

Yes, but by that date, the Gamecube already had a Super Smash Bros (released at launch) and a 3D Mario (Mario Sunshine, July of 2002).  So that comparisson is bullshit.

Yet NSMB Wii outsold Melee + Sunshine by several times over. 2D Mario is a bigger franchise. 

But yeah OK, lets keep pushing the "all it needs is EVEN MORE Mario", thing, lol. Don't get me wrong I think Mario 3D World will help (it can't make things worse), but I get the feeling its going to be a bit of a wake up call for some when it doesn't "save" the system.

130 million 3DS units...that strikes me as completely impractical.

I think Nintendo is going to be more disappointed with the Wii U only selling 20-30 million units because it's much harder to make a profit when your development costs are high. Wii U games almost certainly cost more than GameCube games did to develop, it's not as profitable as a venture when the userbase is that low.

One thing that's also glossed over is the 3DS is selling waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay less software than the DS was at this time in its lifespan. So even the kids that are getting a 3DS, I think even that base is being impacted by the fact that you can load up on cheap $1 games on tablets/phones these days and that's becoming a problem too.

You think vita is 40mil+? Well its definitely possible, but i dont call that domination in the handheld category, oh yea even worse vita tv isnt a handheld

 

PS4 definitely 120mil+ (can surpass ps2)

Here's a look at where the Wii U is trending right now, compared to the GameCube and Dreamcast. 

As you can see it's way behind the GCN and even Dreamcast.

i don't think 3DS can do 130 millions it's 20 millions less then ds and ds had now already 11 millions lead over 3DS



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

That's wrong! Unless it's US only, Wii U is at 3.9 m LTD don't know about GCN and DC!

But those numbers are sickening...
