Free online, quality titles, actual innovation, backwards compatible, and nothing behind a paywall! Yes, there's not good third party support, but what happened to the +30 million people who bought MarioKart Wii, or +10 million people who bought SSBB/ SMG? |
It has quality titles that no one cares about... Pikmen 3, Wonderful 101, WWHD and the rest aren't system sellers even though they are really good games... WWHD is a remake and most people already played the original... 2014 as well as this holiday will pretty much determine where the console is going

I care about Pikmin =(
But Nintendo has had the worst luck! They released Mario and Sonic twice on Wii, sells amazing. Release it on Wii U FAIL. Wii Party U FAIL. Wii Fit U FAIL. But in Wii they all suceeded. It's just weird to me, the casuals buy the same game twice, why not a third tme?

Well... One thing that is kinda interesting is how close the wiiU is following the 3ds vs vita route...
What I mean by that is... when the 3ds came out, it wasn't selling much, by no means was it ever selling as low as the wiiU but it was selling quite low and the games were also shit that no one cared about... But then the Vita came out, got a shit ton of sales initally cause of how powerful it really was and the games looked amazing compared to the 3ds (Except RE:R)... But then the drought came to the Vita and many launch key games on the vita also had mediocre review scores and System Sellers such as Mario, and Zelda and other games like Professor layton started coming for the 3ds with review scores of 8s and 9s and ever since then, the 3ds has been dominent in the handheld market as great games continue to come out for the system with little western third party support as well as a price cut
Now, I am not saying the wiiU is in the same sitution by any means... Consoles are a far different market than handheld and many more people care about third party on the console than on the handheld but all I am saying is... Wait till the true System Sellers come, wait till the key games like Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros come out and then we will see how things turn out. Its not about buying the same games a third time... its about paying that inital $300 + $60 but not having any other game that people care about on the system until 2014
